Luma Island, the open-world co-op life sim that sits at an 84% positive rating on Steam, has been officially confirmed for PlayStation 5. Developer Feel Free Games revealed the port with a short teaser trailer, and the headline feature is crossplay for up to four players.
Crossplay across PC, PlayStation and Xbox
Luma Island is also coming to Xbox Series X/S, which means players on Steam, PS5 and Xbox will be able to share the same sessions. According to Feel Free Games, PC players can invite their console friends into existing worlds without having to reset them – so if you already have a farm you’ve been building for months, your friends on PS5 can simply drop in.
There is no firm release date for the PS5 and Xbox versions yet. The studio says the date will be revealed soon, and in the meantime you can add the game to your list on the PlayStation Store. What Luma Island actually is
The game launched on PC on November 20, 2024, and Feel Free Games says it has attracted more than 800,000 players since. It’s regularly compared to Stardew Valley, since it hits a similar vibe and shares a lot of mechanics, but its big selling point is a no-pressure approach: you don’t have to fuss over inventory size, and combat is extremely forgiving, so exploring never turns stressful. Most progression and missions are tied to professions, and each one noticeably changes how you play.
