The Legend of Zelda is heading into its 40th anniversary, and Nintendo is stacking the calendar with more than just games. Books, figures, a concert tour and a themed console are all part of the celebration – and now there’s a piece of merch aimed squarely at collectors with deep pockets. First 4 Figures and Nintendo are teaming up on a full-size replica of the Decayed Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
A life-size Master Sword with Gloom crawling up the blade
The statue is a 1:1 scale recreation of the broken sword exactly as it appears in Tears of the Kingdom, right down to the eaten-away blade. It sits on a display stand shaped like Gloom rising toward the weapon – the same imagery you see in the depths beneath Hyrule Castle, where Ganondorf is waiting. Both the sword and the Gloom base have built-in LEDs, so the piece lights up rather than just standing there.
Fans of Tears of the Kingdom will recognize the moment it’s referencing. The game’s opening has Ganondorf’s Gloom eat the legendary Master Sword down to the hilt, leaving Link with nothing to fight back with as the Upheaval begins and the Demon King returns. Link’s arm takes the worst of it, which is why King Rauru grants him a magical right arm capable of wielding Zonai power.

What this means if you want one
Preorders are already open, but there’s no exact ship date yet – just that Q4 2026 window. With that window getting closer, expect First 4 Figures to firm up timing before it arrives. In practice that means committing money well ahead of delivery, so factor that in.
It’s also worth noting the statue costs more than the Zelda 40th anniversary Nintendo Switch 2, which launches on October 29 with a custom design on the console and dock plus exclusive Joy-Con 2 controllers. On scale and detail, though, this is the kind of centerpiece that’s clearly built for display shelves rather than casual buys.
Cheaper Zelda collectibles are coming too
If $599 is out of the question, the anniversary push has smaller options. The Ocarina of Time remake arrives on Switch 2 in November and brings two new amiibo with it – Young Link and Young Zelda – at $24.99 each. We covered the Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo in detail, and if you’re still deciding where to buy the remake itself, we also broke down the preorder bonuses.
Zelda collectibles have a habit of selling out fast – the Mineru’s Construct amiibo is a recent example. For everything else on the anniversary calendar, our full Zelda news hub keeps track of new announcements.
