He-Man: Dragon Pearl of Destruction finally has a firm date – February 4, 2027

The retro beat-’em-up He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction now has a concrete launch day: February 4, 2027. The date was confirmed on October 12 and replaces the vaguer “early 2027” window that had been announced back in August. That makes this the third release window the game has carried, after two previous delays – the first of which surfaced roughly two weeks before the originally planned late-April 2026 launch.

What kind of game this actually is

Dragon Pearl of Destruction comes from Bitmap Bureau, the British studio behind Terminator 2D: No Fate. It’s a 2D beat-’em-up built on the look and feel of the 1980s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon, with pixel-art visuals, several playable Eternian heroes, and support for both solo play and two-player couch co-op.

The playable roster covers He-Man, She-Ra, Man-At-Arms and Teela, each with their own attacks and abilities. Battle Cat shows up as a rideable companion. On the other side of the fight you’ll run into Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, Trap Jaw, Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts.

The campaign is now being advertised as 13 stages, including the Royal Palace, Vine Jungle and Snake Mountain. Earlier promo material mentioned only 12, so at least one extra level was added somewhere along the way.

Platforms and price

The game launches simultaneously on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. The digital version costs $29.99, and you can already find it on Steam.

Physical editions and the $99.99 Collector’s

Limited Run Games handles the physical release, but only for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch – there’s no boxed PS4 or PC version. Physical copies are made to order, so they’ll only be produced for customers who pre-order by November 22, 2026. After that date, pre-orders close.

  • Standard Edition – $29.99: physical game, booklet, and a foiled and embossed slipcover.
  • Collector’s Edition – $99.99: everything from the Standard Edition plus lunchbox-style collector’s packaging, a SteelCase, epoxy character pins based on the game’s sprites, a miniature replica of He-Man’s Power Sword with a stand, an acrylic standee of He-Man riding Battle Cat, and a 12-page mini comic produced by Dark Horse Comics.

There’s one extra incentive for early buyers: the first 2,250 Collector’s Edition orders are eligible for a 5.5-inch Masters of the Universe Origins He-Man figure while supplies last. Both boxed versions are listed through Limited Run Games.

What it means for you

If you only care about playing, nothing urgent is on your plate – February 4, 2027 is the date to watch, and the digital edition will be there on day one across five platforms. If you want a box on your shelf, though, the clock is real: the made-to-order model means missing the November 22, 2026 cutoff likely means missing the physical release entirely.
