According to Steam, Path of Exile 2 needs at least Windows 10, 8 GB of RAM, a graphics card with 3 GB of VRAM, DirectX 12 and 100 GB of free space. On Steam Deck it has officially been Steam Deck Verified since 24 September 2026. Everything here is valid as of 20 October 2026, when the game is in Early Access on version 0.5.5e. Below are the minimum and recommended specs, what to do with a weaker graphics card, how much space to leave for updates and how the game runs on Steam Deck and consoles.
Minimum and recommended PC specs
The table is based on the game’s Steam page as of 20 October 2026.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 | Windows 10 |
| CPU | Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2500X | Intel Core i5-10500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3700X |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (3 GB), Intel Arc A380 or AMD Radeon RX 470 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, Intel Arc A770 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT |
| DirectX | version 12 | version 12 |
| Storage | 100 GB | 100 GB, SSD recommended |
| Network | broadband connection | broadband connection |
The internet connection is a requirement, not a suggestion. Path of Exile 2 has no offline mode. The game also supports HDR and has full controller support on PC, including DualShock and DualSense.
The 3 GB VRAM rule and the option for weaker GPUs
Steam spells it out in the requirements: “A GPU with at least 3GB of VRAM is required”. A card with less memory won’t do, even if the rest of your PC meets the minimum.

If your GPU is short on VRAM, look at the Texture Quality setting. Patch 0.5.5e (patch notes from 6 October 2026) added it specifically for PCs with little video memory. You won’t find other graphics tweaks here, because GGG hasn’t published official FPS settings.
How much disk space you need
The game asks for 100 GB. Leave some headroom, though, because big updates tend to be large. According to GGG, the Return of the Ancients patch was around 40 GB on Steam. A drive filled to the last gigabyte can stop the download.
An SSD is part of the recommended specs, and GGG’s general troubleshooting advice also suggests installing the game on an SSD and keeping your graphics drivers up to date. If the game crashes or won’t start, carry on with our errors and support guide.
Mac and Linux
Mac and Linux are not supported as of 20 October 2026. Steam lists Windows only and GGG’s website offers a Windows installer only. The Steam page does show a block of Mac requirements, but it doesn’t apply: the game hasn’t been released on Mac.
Steam Deck: Verified since September 2026
Since 24 September 2026, Path of Exile 2 carries the Steam Deck Verified badge. Valve’s testing found that:
- the default controls are fully functional,
- in-game controller icons match the Deck’s buttons,
- text is legible,
- the default settings deliver good enough performance.
On SteamOS outside the Deck the game is rated Playable, with the test confirming that the game starts. Until 11 December 2026 you play on Deck through Early Access, which means buying a pack. From 11 December 2026 the game is set to be free there too, according to GGG. What access costs right now is in our price guide, and what 11 December brings is in our full release guide. Tips for the handheld itself are in the Steam Deck hub.
PS5 and Xbox Series
On consoles there are no specs to worry about, only the generation. Path of Exile 2 is available on PlayStation 5 (the PlayStation Store lists it as PS5 Pro Enhanced) and on Xbox Series X|S. For Xbox, the Microsoft Store lists 4K, HDR, 60 and 120 fps and the Optimized for Xbox Series X|S label. The game is not available on PS4 or Xbox One.
