What these setups mean in practice
According to support, the recommended requirements target 144 fps in most situations. The minimum setup will launch the game, but support does not promise smooth play with it. If your PC sits somewhere between minimum and recommended, expect to spend some time tuning the graphics.

Download size and storage
Set aside 40 GB for the minimum spec, or 50 GB according to the recommended spec. The game gets an update roughly once a month, so keeping some extra room free is a good idea. Steam also requires a 64-bit processor and operating system, so PUBG will not run on 32-bit Windows.
Mac, Linux and Steam Deck
The PC version on Steam is Windows only. Neither Mac nor Linux is a supported system.
Steam Deck lists PUBG as Unsupported. The reason is the anti-cheat, which does not work on Steam Deck or SteamOS. So you cannot officially play PUBG on a Steam Deck. If the game will not start on a regular Windows PC, check our guide to errors and anti-cheat based on official support.
Steam also lists Remote Play on phones and tablets and Family Sharing for the game. You are still streaming from your own Windows PC, which has to handle the game.
Using a controller on PC
Steam lists partial controller support for PUBG. According to PUBG support, you connect a compatible controller through Steam: open the controller settings in Big Picture and register the controller to your account.
Console: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
On console there are no specs to worry about, only the right generation. Since 13 November 2025 PUBG runs only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, it is no longer playable on PS4 and Xbox One. On console the game targets a stable 60 fps. Xbox Series S lets you choose between 1080p at 60 fps and 1440p at 30 fps, while Xbox Series X and PS5 Pro offer dynamic 4K.
