The Last Caretaker is heading to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in spring 2027. Developer Channel37 has confirmed that the console release will coincide with the survival-crafting game’s move out of Early Access and its version 1.0 launch. The Last Caretaker is a first-person, open-world survival-crafting game built entirely for single-player. You travel across an ocean world using a boat as your mobile base, searching abandoned facilities and dismantling wreckage for materials you can recycle into useful equipment.
Resource management is part of that journey, alongside combat against rogue machines. Your larger task is to restore ancient launch infrastructure, chart the ocean, collect resources and memories, and send the humans you have raised into orbit.
Exploration also reveals the story through the environment. That means scavenging is tied to both building up your supplies and uncovering what happened in the world around you.
