Nintendo has announced two new amiibo tied to the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. One figure depicts Young Link, the other Young Zelda, and both are scheduled to arrive sometime in 2027 – so at least a few months after the remake itself, which lands on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. Preorders are already moving fast.
What each figure looks like
The designs lean directly on the moment the story begins, when Link is still a child and Zelda a young princess:
- Young Link – the child version of Link sitting alongside Navi, his fairy companion.
- Young Zelda – the princess holding the Ocarina of Time itself, the instrument she eventually hands over to Link during his adventure.
Both figures are based on the younger character models from the upcoming Switch 2 remake rather than on the 1998 original.
The in-game bonus: masks with the original N64 designs
As usual with amiibo, each figure unlocks unique content in the matching game. Here, both scan in a special in-game mask built around the original Nintendo 64 versions of the characters – a nod that will feel familiar to anyone who remembers the masks in Zelda: Majora’s Mask. In other words, the older, blockier look isn’t gone from the remake; it comes back as a cosmetic you can wear.
That’s worth underlining, because the single loudest reaction to the remake’s first trailer was how different Young Link and Young Zelda looked compared to the N64 original.
