Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives on November 19 and the merchandise machine around it is already spinning up. Dataminers combing through the Rockstar Games website pulled out a long list of planned GTA 6 products, including one entry that immediately set off speculation about a collector’s package. Since then, the GTA 6 Collector’s Box has been officially revealed, which gives the leak a lot more weight in hindsight.
What the datamine turned up
According to the files found on Rockstar’s site, the merch lineup is broad rather than exotic. Expect a wide range of GTA 6 clothing, plus:
- zippos and money clips
- tote bags and a lunch bag
- keychains, sticker packs and bumper stickers
- a basketball and a football
The standout entry, though, was something called GTA 6: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection. It could simply be a bundle of the other items, but plenty of people read the name as a candidate for a proper Collector’s Edition. The leak offered no contents list at all – the only concrete detail was a shipping weight of roughly 24 pounds, which at least suggests a chunky package rather than a T-shirt in an envelope. Worth noting that the Vice City name has had its own legal side story lately, which we covered when WWE dropped its trademark application.
The Ultimate Edition already exists – and already divides players
Rockstar has confirmed a GTA 6 Ultimate Edition priced at $99.99. It bundles exclusive access to various in-game locations, with certain stores opening only for players who pay for that tier. That approach has been contentious, but there is clearly an audience for it, and an even more expensive collector’s package would find buyers too.
A “physical” release with no disc
Here is the part that keeps coming back up. GTA 6 technically gets a physical release, but what you buy is a box with a download code inside – there is no disc version. That decision has been controversial since it was announced, and a Collector’s Edition changes nothing about it: however premium the box is, no disc will be in it.
Some players still hope Rockstar reverses course. That looks unlikely. Sony has announced it will end physical disc production starting in January 2028, so while there is technically a window left, the direction of travel is obvious.
What it means for you
If you collect, the practical takeaway is simple: whatever the Vice City Collection ends up being, treat it as memorabilia rather than a way to own the game on media. Everything beyond the officially revealed Collector’s Box – contents, pricing, regional availability – is still unconfirmed, and a datamine can list products that get reshuffled or never ship. Either way, GTA 6 is on track to be the best-selling game of the year with or without a collector’s tier.
