VALORANT Patch 13.06: New Home, Agent Mastery, Gauntlet: Glitched and the Warden

VALORANT Patch 13.06: New Home, Agent Mastery, Gauntlet: Glitched and the Warden

Riot calls patch 13.06 the biggest one of the year – and maybe of the last few years. A merged Home and Lobby, the brand new Agent Mastery system, the limited time mode Gauntlet: Glitched, the Practice Range while you sit in queue, a new rifle called the Warden and a pile of competitive features all go live today. Here’s the whole thing, broken down.

General updates

  • The boosting detection rolled out recently keeps hitting smurfs and boosters. Riot is banning roughly 1,600 accounts per day – that’s over 90,000 accounts since July 20.
  • The Anticheat team published a retro on how the new antiboosting tech is performing so far, courtesy of Vanguard. Short version: the detections are working against smurfs and this is only the start.

Client updates

New Home/Lobby

Home and Lobby are now a single hub. You get an overview of what’s happening in VALORANT and a faster path into your next match – picking a mode, assembling your squad and queueing up is smoother than before.

Right from the hub you can browse Events, Missions, the active map pool, Leaderboards and more, while your party stays front and center. New tiles on Home also highlight limited time stuff like new modes and Pick’ems. The Mode Select interface gets its own update in Patch 13.08.

Global Navigation

Navigation was revamped so it’s easier to move between the game’s major hubs and to tell where you actually are. The layout gives navigation more room and reduces visual crowding, and active pages, secondary navigation and back behavior now behave consistently across the whole game.

New Item Indicators

If you earned a bunch of new content in recent matches but haven’t looked at it yet, your Collection now marks what’s new. The indicators disappear as soon as you view your Collection or leave the game – they won’t nag you next session.

Competitive updates

Range and Queue

You can finally enter the Range while you’re in queue and warm up your aim before the match starts. A few details:

  • You can enter the Range from the lobby after starting matchmaking, or start matchmaking from inside the Range.
  • If your queue is expected to be short, the Range may not be available right away. If the wait drags on longer than expected, it becomes available again.
  • Premier, Deathmatch and other modes without Agent Select don’t support queueing from the Range.

Performance Score replaces ACS

Average Combat Score is out, Performance Score is in. It’s a number from 0 to 500 that measures more than just damage and kills, so it paints a fuller picture of what you contributed to the match.

  • The End of Game screen breaks down what affected your Performance Score, where you can improve and how close you were to a Masterful performance.
  • Performance Score runs in Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay and Premier.
  • MVP and your position on the scoreboard in those modes are now decided by Performance Score.
  • Riot says it will watch feedback closely while planning further updates.

Accolades

  • Accolades recognize standout performances across a variety of stats, including many of the contributions Performance Score measures.
  • Each Accolade tracks your personal best for the current Act and for your lifetime play. Tracking starts with this patch – historical match data doesn’t count, so everyone begins fresh.
  • You’ll see earned Accolades throughout the End of Game experience, including the MVP screen, and in full detail in the Competitive Hub.
  • Accolades can only be earned in Competitive and Premier.

Rank Legacy

Rank Legacy is basically a VALORANT trophy case: it shows how many times you’ve reached each rank across your Competitive career. If you’re still figuring out how the ladder works, we have a separate breakdown of Valorant ranks.

  • Open the Competitive Hub from Career to see your current rank and every rank you’ve achieved.
  • Every time you earn a rank its counter goes up, or you’ll see that you hit a new peak.
  • Each existing rank can raise your Rank Legacy counter once every three Acts (Acts I–III and Acts IV–VI).
  • Demoting into a rank does not increase its counter.

Career page updates

  • Career: your top Agents, Match History and rank on one page, with some personal flair.
  • Competitive Hub: a snapshot of your Competitive Act plus dedicated pages for Accolades and Rank Legacy, and a peek at what’s coming.
  • Friends can still view your Career and the Competitive Hub Overview; the dedicated Competitive Hub pages are visible only to you.

More is on the way in the next patches: Map Rating in 13.08, plus Competitive Flex and updates to the Radiant experience in 14.00.

Gameplay systems: End of Game

The End of Game experience was rebuilt to give you a clearer summary of the match and of what happens next. Your performance, rewards and match details sit in one place with the most important moments highlighted – earning MVP, a rank promotion, or your progress in new systems like Agent Mastery, Accolades and Performance Score.

It progresses automatically, but you stay in control: move through it at your own pace, dig into detail, requeue immediately or head back to the Lobby whenever you want.

New limited time mode: Gauntlet: Glitched

Riot’s most ambitious mode yet. You fight 2v2 battles against seven other duos, draft abilities from different Agents and upgrade them as the match goes on. There are new arenas to learn and familiar abilities pushed way past their limits – if a Yoru decoy starts shooting at you, that’s working as intended.

Eight duos, one Gauntlet

  • Sixteen players enter as eight duos. Each round you face another team in a 2v2 showdown – represent the Purple Corgis or the Red Elephants and do your team proud.
  • Lose a round and your team loses health. Hit zero and you’re out. Once eliminated you can leave and queue again without waiting for the remaining teams to finish.
  • As the match moves through stages, the weapons change and round losses cost more health. Use the early rounds to find your footing.
  • Queue solo or with a friend for short, action-packed matches.

Hybrid Robo Agents and Ability Draft

  • KAY/O, is that you? Hybrid Robo Agents are in.
  • Between rounds you draft from randomized ability options and build your kit out of abilities from different Agents.
  • Add another ability to your arsenal or invest in one you already have and push it from Level 1 to Level 3.
  • Go all in on mobility, stock up on defensive bots and traps, or try something new every draft. Use rerolls or craft on another slot to chase the combo you want – and scout the lobby to see what builds you might run into.

Familiar abilities, glitched upgrades

When you push an ability to Level 2, there’s a rare random chance it ‘glitches’ and goes a little haywire. Riot isn’t spoiling all of them, but two examples: Raze’s Boom Bot that you can detonate whenever you want, and Gekko’s Wingman grown really, really big. If you don’t know the base kits by heart, our overview of Valorant Agents is a decent primer.

New arenas and the Winner’s Circle

  • Four arenas remix familiar VALORANT map spaces into battlegrounds built for 2v2, stitched together by glitching seams. You might recognize the scenery, but you’ll need a fresh approach – we also have a guide to the regular Valorant maps.
  • Won your matchup? You head to the Winner’s Circle above the four arenas, where you can watch the remaining fights, shoot at targets or jump around like you meant to win that cleanly.

Leaving limited time modes

Retake is heading out. Thanks for playing.

Player behavior: Riot Voice Evaluation expands

  • RVE, the in-game voice comms tech, was updated to better detect Spanish, Portuguese and Korean.
  • If you run into toxic behavior, report it in-game under the Voice Comms Abuse category – reports help Riot identify and action disruptive behavior and improve the system.

Progression: Agent Mastery

Agent Mastery gives you new ways to show your dedication to a specific Agent. Play Clove and you progress Clove; play Sova and you progress Sova. Every Agent has its own Act levels, Lifetime levels, Reward Track and Agent ID.

Everyone starts at zero Act Level and zero Lifetime Level on every Agent – previous playtime doesn’t carry over, so the whole playerbase starts on a level playing field.

Progression

  • Both types of progression run on Mastery Points (MP).
  • Act Levels track your progress with an Agent during the current Act and reset when a new Act starts.
  • Lifetime Levels permanently track your progress with an Agent across Acts.
  • Earning MP raises your Act Level, and every Act Level also raises your Lifetime Level – 1 Act Level = 1 Lifetime Level.

Earning Mastery Points

  • Play matches in supported modes on an Agent to earn MP for that Agent.
  • Wins and strong performances grant bonus MP.

Act Levels and Portrait upgrades

  • Each Agent has 10 main Act levels per Act.
  • Levels 4, 7 and 10 unlock Portrait Accents that upgrade the look of your Agent Portrait and show your investment from the current and previous Act.
  • Hit Act Level 10 and you can keep going through Overleveling for the rest of the Act.

Lifetime Levels, rewards and Agent ID

  • Lifetime levels reflect long-term investment, not just who you played this Act.
  • Lifetime progression unlocks access to rewards on each Agent’s Reward Track – you spend Kingdom Credits to actually unlock the ones you want.
  • Reward Tracks include rewards from the old Agent Gear system plus a number of new ones, and you keep every Agent Gear reward you already unlocked.
  • Agent IDs are new: unlock, customize and equip components through each Agent’s Reward Track.

Weapons: the Warden

A new automatic rifle joins the Vandal and Phantom in the 2,900 credit tier. The Warden is built as a distinct long-range option thanks to its scope. For everything else in the buy menu, see our overview of Valorant weapons.

  • Weapon class: Rifle
  • Price: 2,900 credits
  • Projectile type: Bullet
  • Attachment: Scope with 2x magnification
  • Bullets per magazine: 18, ammo reserve 36
  • Damage per bullet: 50 at all ranges – 200 to the head, 42 to the legs
  • Fire rate: 6.5
  • Reload: 2.5 s
  • Equip: normal 1.0 s, fast 0.6 s, instant 0.2 s
  • Wall penetration: Medium

Bug fixes

Agents

  • An Agent’s Ultimate voiceover no longer gets cut off when you cast a different ability right after.
  • Agents with possessable abilities (Tejo, Sova, Gekko, Cypher, Skye) are now correctly flashed if they exit the possessable ability at the exact moment an enemy pops a flash.
  • Cypher’s Trapwire no longer looks active if Cypher is killed or suppressed exactly as the trap reactivates.

Competitive

  • The threshold shown for the ‘Masterful’ Accolade is wrong and gets fixed next patch. It’s purely visual and doesn’t affect earning the Accolade.

Cosmetics

  • The bug that let players jiggle peek with a Flex equipped is fixed – it was actually fixed back in Patch 13.02, it just never made the notes.

Console only

With Patch 13.06, VALORANT Console is now available in Australia and New Zealand. We covered the console launch in a separate article.

Known issues

  • Competitive: a console issue with mode selection while in Range in Queue.
  • Modes: after exiting the queue you may be briefly unable to enter the Range even though you’re not queued. A fix is coming in a following patch.

FAQ

What replaced ACS in VALORANT?

Average Combat Score is gone and Performance Score took its place. It’s a 0–500 number that factors in more than damage and kills, and it now decides MVP and your scoreboard position in Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay and Premier.

Does my old Agent playtime count toward Agent Mastery?

No. Every player starts at zero Act Level and zero Lifetime Level on every Agent – previous playtime and progress don’t carry over. You do keep any Agent Gear rewards you already unlocked.

Can I warm up in the Range while queueing?

Yes. You can enter the Range after starting matchmaking, or start matchmaking from inside the Range. If the queue is expected to be short the Range may not be available right away, and modes without Agent Select – like Premier and Deathmatch – don’t support it.

How does Gauntlet: Glitched work?

Sixteen players enter as eight duos and fight 2v2 rounds. Losing a round costs your team health and hitting zero eliminates you, but you can leave and requeue immediately. Between rounds you draft abilities from different Agents and upgrade them from Level 1 to Level 3.

How much does the Warden cost and what does it do?

The Warden is an automatic rifle for 2,900 credits with a 2x scope, an 18-round magazine and a flat 50 damage per bullet at all ranges (200 to the head). It’s built as a long-range tactical option next to the Vandal and Phantom.
