John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando comes in two editions. On Steam in Czechia, where prices are in euros, Standard costs €39.99 and the Blood Edition €49.99, with the extra money going to the Bloody Pass and its three cosmetic packs. On the US Steam store, Standard is $39.99. According to the Xbox store page, the game isn’t on Game Pass, so on Xbox you have to buy it, but if you own it digitally, Game Pass lets you stream it from the cloud. Below is what the Blood Edition includes, how much you save compared with buying the content separately, and what no edition adds. Prices are Steam list prices without discounts as of 26 September 2026.

The gameplay content is identical in both editions. The Blood Edition costs €10 more, and the difference is purely the cosmetics in the Bloody Pass. With Standard you get every mission, weapon and vehicle, and crossplay puts you in a squad with anyone regardless of which edition they bought.
What’s in the Bloody Pass
The Bloody Pass bundles three cosmetic packs. Two of them came out alongside the big free updates, and all of them are also sold separately.
Cosmetic Pack: Bloody Pass
- gold weapon skins,
- a bullet-shaped weapon charm,
- headgear for the characters.
Cosmetic Pack 1 (18 June 2026)
- skins and headgear for every character,
- weapon skins with skulls and graffiti,
- a popcorn charm,
- stickers, graffiti and a leopard-print wrap for vehicles,
- titles and icons.
Cosmetic Pack 2 (2 September 2026)
- mutated character skins,
- bone weapon skins,
- a bloody charm,
- vehicle skins featuring the Sludge God’s face and a new horn,
- a title and an icon.
Everything in the Bloody Pass is cosmetic. In their Season 1 announcement, the developers also said they have no plans for real-money purchases outside of the DLC packs.
How much you save versus buying separately
The Bloody Pass and each individual pack are sold on their own on Steam. Prices as of 26 September 2026, without discounts:

If you want the Bloody Pass anyway, the Blood Edition saves you €2.99 compared with adding it to Standard later, and €4.97 compared with buying the packs one at a time.
What the Blood Edition doesn’t give you
- Gameplay content. Missions, weapons, vehicles and modes from updates are free for all players. You get Urban Blight and the Retrieval Update with Standard too. What they added is covered in our roadmap and updates page.
- Leon’s Secret Stash. It was a pre-order bonus for both editions and isn’t part of the Blood Edition. It’s now a separate €3.99 DLC with an outfit for each character, the ACW-20 assault rifle, the Wakizashi katana, an avatar and the title First In, Last Out.
There’s also an in-game shop that uses currency earned from challenges. In Season 2, Season 1 items are gradually returning to it, except for the titles and the final Season 1 avatar.
Who should get the Blood Edition
It comes down to whether you want the cosmetics. If you do, the Blood Edition is the cheapest way to get the full Bloody Pass. If the default look of your characters and guns is fine, buy Standard and you won’t miss out on any gameplay. You can upgrade later by buying the Bloody Pass separately for €12.99.
Is Toxic Commando on Game Pass?
No. The game’s official page on the Xbox store doesn’t list it as included with Game Pass and states that a game purchase is required. On Xbox Series X|S, like everywhere else, you have to buy it.
Cloud play if you own the game
Game Pass can still be useful. According to the Xbox store, the game is cloud playable with Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate once you own it. This is the Stream your own game feature, which lets you stream a game you’ve bought through the cloud.

- PC: Steam and the Epic Games Store. On Steam it’s Windows only. Standard is €39.99 in Czechia or $39.99 in the US, Blood €49.99 (Steam Czechia).
- Xbox Series X|S: on the US Xbox store from $39.99 for Standard and from $49.99 for the Blood Edition.
- PlayStation 5: the game is out on PS5. We haven’t verified the PlayStation Store price.

Things to know before you buy
- You always need internet. There’s no offline mode, and even solo games with bots run online. More in our guide to playing with bots.
- Crossplay. PC, PS5 and Xbox players can team up, and since patch 2.0 your progress carries over too. Details in the crossplay guide.
- Audio. Voice-over is English only.
- PC requirements. The minimum is Windows 10/11 64-bit, 16 GB of RAM, an RX 580 or GTX 1070 class GPU and 58 GB of storage on an SSD, which is mandatory.
