Which platforms Silksong is on
Team Cherry, a small independent studio from Adelaide in South Australia, is both developer and publisher. Silksong is the sequel to Hollow Knight: you play as Hornet, who finds herself in the unknown kingdom of Pharloom and climbs to its peak. It launched on 4 September 2025 on every platform at the same time:
- PC with Windows, macOS and Linux (Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, plus the Windows version in the Microsoft Store),
- Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S,
- PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5,
- Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
What your PC or Steam Deck needs is covered in our guide to system requirements. The PC version holds a Metacritic score of 90.
Editions and DLC
Silksong comes in one version only: the game itself. The Steam package contains nothing else, and in the PlayStation Store the only offer is buying the base game. How many hours that buys you is in our article on Silksong’s length.
The only DLC on Steam is the Official Soundtrack with 53 orchestral tracks for €11.79 (Steam Czech storefront, 20 October 2026). It is music only and adds nothing to the game. There is no other paid DLC and no premium edition on Steam.
Is Silksong on Game Pass?
Yes. Silksong has been in Game Pass since day one, 4 September 2025. Xbox Wire announced it for console, PC and cloud play, and Team Cherry talked about a “day one” Xbox Game Pass release.
As of 20 October 2026, the Czech Microsoft Store lists the game as included with PC Game Pass and Game Pass Premium. If you subscribe, you can download it at no extra cost. In December 2025 Team Cherry said more than seven million players had bought the game, with millions more playing through Xbox Game Pass. Silksong also features in our list of the best Xbox games.
Is Silksong on PS Plus?
No. In the Czech PlayStation Store, as of 20 October 2026, the only offer is a purchase for CZK 475, and the game is not in the PS Plus catalogue. One purchase covers both PS4 and PS5.
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
In the Czech Nintendo eShop, the Switch version and the Switch 2 Edition cost the same, CZK 500 each (as of 20 October 2026). If you own the Switch version, you get the Switch 2 Edition upgrade for free. The Switch 2 Edition runs at a higher frame rate and a higher resolution.
Xbox Play Anywhere
In the Microsoft Store, Silksong is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. One purchase gets you the game on both Xbox consoles and Windows PC. The Xbox Series X|S version is optimised for those consoles.
Sea of Sorrow will be free
In December 2025 Team Cherry announced Sea of Sorrow, the first major expansion, with a nautical theme, new areas, bosses and tools. It will be free for all players and is expected in 2026. No release date has been announced yet (as of 20 October 2026). What we know about it, and what the patches so far have changed, is in our article on updates and the Sea of Sorrow expansion.
