As of 20 October 2026, Hogwarts Legacy is sold in two editions, Standard and Digital Deluxe, on PC, PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X|S and One, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. On Steam the base game costs €59.99. This guide covers what each edition includes, prices in the official stores, whether the game is on Game Pass and PS Plus, and what the Switch 2 version offers.
Which Hogwarts Legacy editions exist
Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set in the wizarding world of Harry Potter in the 1800s. It was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label. It is strictly single-player, with no online mode or co-op. It launched on PC and Xbox on 10 February 2023, on Nintendo Switch on 14 November 2023 and on Switch 2 on 5 June 2025.
The official stores sell the Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition. The PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store and the Nintendo eShop (original Switch only) also offer the Hogwarts Legacy + Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Deluxe Editions Bundle (the PlayStation Store calls it the Ultimate Wizarding Bundle). As of 20 October 2026, no other edition is on sale in the official stores or on the official site.
Standard Edition and Haunted Hogsmeade
The Standard Edition includes the base game and the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest: a quest with an extra dungeon, the Shopkeeper’s Cosmetic Set and your own shop in Hogsmeade. Since the summer update of 5 June 2024 it has been part of every version of the game, so you do not pay anything extra for it.
Digital Deluxe Edition and Dark Arts Pack
The Digital Deluxe Edition adds to the base game:
- the Thestral Mount,
- the Dark Arts Battle Arena,
- the Dark Arts Cosmetic Set,
- the Dark Arts Garrison Hat.
The Dark Arts Garrison Hat is exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition. The rest is sold separately as the Dark Arts Pack (thestral, cosmetic set and arena), so Standard Edition owners can add it later, including from inside the game. There are no other in-game purchases and no microtransactions.

Is Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass and PS Plus?
Yes, both, as of 20 October 2026. On Xbox the game is included in Xbox Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass and Ultimate, and cloud play comes with Premium or Ultimate. On PlayStation the Standard Edition is in the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue. Subscription catalogues change over time, so check the store before you buy.
From Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S
If you own the digital Xbox One version, the Microsoft Store offers the digital Xbox Series X|S version at a reduced price; the store does not state the amount. The Series X|S and PC version is Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers console and PC. Whether your PC can handle it is covered in our PC requirements guide.
Physical copies
A physical copy needs an internet connection for the day-one patch. The digital version already includes it.
Hogwarts Legacy on Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launched on 5 June 2025 and was co-developed by Avalanche Software and Krome Studios. Compared with the original Switch, it offers better visuals with DLSS support, a higher resolution, smoother traversal, faster flying and Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. Saves from Switch carry over in one direction. The download is 23.1 GB, and on the German eShop it costs the same as the Switch version, €59.99 (Deluxe €69.99).
Languages, age rating and the Fan Club
On Steam the game supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Full audio is available in English, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and both Spanish variants.
The age rating is PEGI 12 (bad language, violence, in-game purchases). If you link your WB Games account to the Harry Potter Fan Club, the game imports the house and wand from the Fan Club’s official Sorting and Wand Ceremony and unlocks the Beaked Skull Mask and House Fan-Atic Robes. Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that a second game is in the works, which we covered in our news.
