PUBG Ranked is the competitive mode where you earn RP (Rank Points) and climb through eight tiers from Bronze to Survivor. This guide covers what you need to get into PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Ranked in the first place, how points are calculated, which maps are in the pool, what changed in Season 43 and which rewards you get at the end. Valid as of 20 October 2026, with Ranked Season 43 live on PC and console.
Ranked Season 43: when it started
Season 43 started with Update 43.1: on PC after maintenance on 10 September 2026, on console on 17 September 2026. The leaderboard was reset at launch, so everyone started from scratch. KRAFTON has not announced when the season ends. What the newer Update 43.2 brought is summed up in our article on the current update.
Ranked requirements
- Survival Mastery level 80 – every member of the team needs it. You earn it by playing normal matches.
- SMS verification – depending on platform and region, the game may ask you to verify your account by SMS. Note that if an SMS-verified account is banned, the linked device is permanently blocked as well.
- Team spread – team members cannot be more than 10 divisions apart. This does not apply to a random squad.
Ranked requires Survival Mastery level 80 (and, depending on region, SMS verification); BATTLEGROUNDS Plus lists Ranked Matchmaking among its benefits and speeds up XP. Plus gives +100% Survival XP, so you reach level 80 faster. What else Plus includes is covered in is PUBG free.

How RP and placement work
After every match your RP (Rank Points) change based on your performance. Kills, assists and placement all count. So it is not only about surviving as long as possible, the fights your team wins earn points too.
The first 5 matches in each queue are placement matches. The game uses them to decide where you start. Ranked runs in Squad, Duo and Solo, so you play placement separately in each queue.
Tiers
Ranked has eight tiers, from lowest to highest:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Crystal
- Diamond
- Master
- Survivor
Ranked maps
Ranked has its own map pool, which changes from season to season. In Update 43.2 it looks like this:

All four are large 8×8 maps. Since Update 43.2, Normal and Ranked matches on Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Vikendi, Deston and Rondo also have the same vehicle types and counts. So you will find vehicles in Ranked just as in normal matches.
What changed in Season 43
- In Duo and Solo, the minimum performance requirements for RP were raised for Gold and above.
- Contender Cargo Tickets replaced Archivist’s Chests in the Ranked Play Point rewards.
- TPP Duo ended in the SA region.
Decay and penalties
From Diamond upwards, your RP start to drop (decay) if you do not play Ranked for a week or longer.
You can cancel a Ranked search at any time without a penalty. Anyone who loads into a match and then leaves it, or keeps dodging, gets a penalty with a waiting time before they can play again.
End-of-season rewards
Rewards depend on the final tier you reached in the season:

The parachute, weapon skin and medal are yours to keep, the other rewards last for one season only. In Season 43 you can permanently earn the Ranked Weapon Skin for the Mk14. The full rules are in the support FAQ on Ranked and in the 43.1 patch notes.
