A World of Warcraft subscription costs €12.99 for one month in the Battle.net Shop (Battle.net Shop, 20 October 2026, VAT included). Commit for longer and the monthly price drops to €10.99. Below you will find what 1, 3, 6 and 12 months cost, everything a single subscription unlocks (modern WoW, Classic and the upcoming WoW: Forever) and what you still have to buy separately.
How much a WoW subscription costs
The European Battle.net Shop charges in euros, so every price here is in EUR with VAT included and valid on 20 October 2026. The English and German versions of the shop show the same amounts.
| Length | Price per month | Total | Savings according to the shop |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 month | €12.99 | €12.99 | – |
| 3 months | €11.99 | €35.97 | €12.00 per year |
| 6 months (Special Offer) | €10.99 | €65.94 | €24.00 per year |
| 12 months (Special Offer) | €10.99 | €131.88 | €24.00 per year |
The 12-month plan is billed once every 12 months and you can cancel it online at any time. Blizzard also notes that subscription pricing varies by region, so the shop page for your own region is what counts. You can check the current offer on the Battle.net Shop subscription page.
What the subscription includes
One subscription covers several games at once. According to the shop, these are listed as “Included with Subscription”:
- World of Warcraft (the modern game) with access to every past expansion.
- Classic 20th Anniversary, which is Classic Era with mega realms, Hardcore included.
- Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary.
- Mists of Pandaria Classic.
- Season of Discovery.
From 4 November 2026 World of Warcraft: Forever joins the list. The shop says it plainly: your WoW subscription or game time grants you access to WoW: Forever starting November 4, with nothing else to buy. Our guide to WoW Forever explains what it is.
Every subscription length also gives you 500 Trader’s Tender per month. That is the currency you spend at the Trading Post.
Bonuses for 6 and 12 months
The longer Special Offers add bonus items: mounts, pets and transmogs for modern WoW, Classic Progression and WoW: Forever. You only get them when you buy that specific length in the Battle.net Shop. Other forms of game time do not unlock them. The items are delivered to your in-game collection.
The current 12-month offer, announced by Blizzard on 15 October 2026 in its offer announcement, includes:
- for modern WoW the Ashen Dreadglider Skyriding mount and the Giant Grrloc ground mount,
- for WoW: Forever the Tabard of Eternal Exploration, the Eternal Explorer’s Backpack and the Azurky pet.
According to Blizzard, the bonuses arrive by 31 October 2026 and must be redeemed by 30 April 2027.
What you buy separately
The subscription unlocks past expansions but not the newest one. The Midnight expansion is a separate purchase, and you also need an active subscription or game time to play it. Buying Midnight does not include future expansions.
| Product | Price (Battle.net Shop, 20 October 2026) | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Midnight Base Edition | €49.99 | Enhanced Level 80 Character Boost, Housing, 500 Trader’s Tender |
| Midnight Heroic Edition | €69.99 | adds the Lightwing Dragonhawk mount and Lightstrider Raiment, 1,000 Trader’s Tender in total |
| Midnight Epic Edition | €89.99 | adds 30 days of game time, pets, mounts and the Midnight Housing Pack, 2,000 Trader’s Tender in total |
| Skyborne Heroic Pack (Forever) | €29.99 | optional, unlocks the Skyborne race |
| Skyborne Epic Pack (Forever) | €59.99 | optional |
| Warcraft Forever Collection | €79.99 | optional, on sale until 11 January 2027 |
You do not need any of the WoW: Forever packs to play. Only the Skyborne race and its starting island, Zephras Isle, require the Heroic Pack or higher. The Midnight editions and the latest content update are covered in our guide to the Midnight expansion.
Game time through the WoW Token
Instead of a recurring subscription you can also play on one-off game time. Blizzard distinguishes between “Subscription” and “non-recurring game time”. One route is the WoW Token: you buy it with gold at the Auction House and redeem it for 30 days of game time. How it works and which limits apply is explained in our WoW Token guide. The in-game Shop and the Auction House show the current token price.
No subscription: the Free Trial up to level 20
Characters up to level 20 play without a subscription in the Free Trial. Anything above level 20 needs a subscription or game time. When your subscription runs out, your account goes back to Free Trial status and characters above 20 stay locked until you pay again. Our Free Trial guide lists what the trial allows.
Platforms, languages and regions
World of Warcraft runs on Windows and Mac. You need an internet connection, a Battle.net account and the Battle.net app, which you can get from download.battle.net. The shop lists these languages: English (US), Español (AL), Português (BR), English (EU), Deutsch, Español (EU), Français, Italiano, Русский, 한국어 and 繁體中文. The game is split into the regions Americas & Oceania, Europe, Korea and Taiwan.
