When Midnight launched

Midnight went live worldwide on 2 March 2026 at 23:00 GMT, which PC Gamer puts at midnight CET on 3 March 2026. Epic Edition owners got three days of early access. Housing was playable even earlier, in early access from 3 December 2025. The official announcement is in Blizzard’s news post.

What Midnight brings

Midnight is the second chapter of The Worldsoul Saga. The main story revolves around the fight against Xal’atath and the Void. Levelling continues to level 90: dungeons unlock through quests or by reaching levels 81 to 90, and all of them are open from level 90.

Zones

  • Eversong Woods and Zul’Aman, both reworked.
  • Harandar, a bioluminescent primordial jungle at the roots of the world trees.
  • Voidstorm, a distant world ravaged by the Void.

Key features

  • Haranir: a new Allied Race. You unlock it with a quest in Silvermoon City after finishing the Harandar campaign.
  • Devourer: a new Demon Hunter specialisation that draws on the power of the Void. All classes are covered in our guide to classes and roles.
  • Prey: a system of contracts on elite enemies.
  • Housing: your own house in a neighbourhood.

Housing comes with a few rules. Any player with any edition of Midnight can pick a house. Everyone can collect decor, but you can only use it with Midnight. Free Trial players can visit public houses but cannot buy one.

What you need to play

Midnight is sold separately, and you also need an active subscription or game time to play it. The subscription on its own gives you every past expansion, but not the newest one. Our subscription price guide lists what it costs. Buying Midnight does not include future expansions.

Midnight content is for characters above level 80. If you do not have one, the Enhanced Level 80 Character Boost included in every edition helps. It takes one character to level 80 with better gear. It does not work in the Classic games and only applies to the game account it was bought for.

On the technical side, Midnight needs 64-bit Windows 10 or newer, or macOS 12 or newer, plus an SSD with 128 GB of free space. The full minimum and recommended specs are in our guide to system requirements.
