AION 2 (global): October 21 Patch Adds Hard Mode to Krao Cave and Draupnir

The October 21, 2026 update for AION 2’s global servers in Europe and the Americas adds Hard mode to Krao Cave and Draupnir, introduces the Ariel Daevanion Board, and fixes several Sorcerer skill interactions. You will need item level 2600 for the new difficulty, where bosses have a four-minute Frenzy timer and each player gets only three revives.

AION 2 Hard mód: Krao Cave, Draupnir a nový Ariel Daevanion | #oficial #creator | MagicStark

These notes cover the global version, not the Korean version. If you do not have the game, you can find its listing on AION 2 Steam.

Expedition: Hard mode for Krao Cave and Draupnir

Both dungeons gain Hard mode with the same entry requirement and limits:

  • Required item level: 2600.
  • Boss Frenzy timer: four minutes.
  • Revive limit: three per player.

That gives you a clear preparation target: meet the gear requirement and plan around both the Frenzy timer and your limited revives.

Hard mode rewards

  • A chance to obtain Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation (Bound).
  • The option to select Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation (Bound) as a guaranteed reward.
  • Ariel Fragment (Bound) rewards, with the fragment varying by dungeon.
  • A chance to obtain Expedition Hero Artwork.
  • More Kina than on Normal difficulty.

All Unique crafting materials will also be obtainable from Krao Cave and Draupnir on Hard: Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will, and Wrathful Ego.

The update adds an Expedition Hero Artwork Collector achievement and new Expedition (Hard) achievements. Completing Expedition (Hard) achievements lets you obtain Unique Skins.

Ariel Daevanion Board and fragment conversions

The new Ariel Daevanion Board connects to Expedition (Hard). You earn Ariel Daevanion Points by collecting Ariel Fragments from those dungeons and morphing them through Substance Morph.

What you can make with Ariel Fragments

  • 100 Ariel Fragments can be converted into one Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound), up to 30 times per character.
  • One Ariel Fragment can be converted into five Enhance Stones, with no limit on the number of conversions.
  • Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound) is found under Substance Morph > Special > Daevanion.
  • Enhance Stones are found under Substance Morph > Special > Consumables.

The notes also specify that the number obtainable through Substance Morph is limited for each dungeon. Keep that dungeon-specific restriction in mind alongside the stated 30-conversion limit per character for Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound).

Class fixes: Chanter and Sorcerer

Chanter

  • Spinning Strike: fixes skill effects that were not displaying correctly.

Sorcerer

  • Cold Storm: fixes an issue where attacking targets with stacked Frostbite did not deal extra damage.
  • Cold Storm: fixes Frostbite effects that did not match the skill level.
  • Cold Storm with Specialty 1: fixes an unintended additional Frostbite application to targets within the Cold Storm area after the effect ended.
  • Fire Wall: fixes extra damage being dealt when attacking targets that were not affected by Embers.

If you play Sorcerer, the important distinction is that these are corrections in both directions: Cold Storm regains missing extra damage against stacked Frostbite, while Fire Wall loses extra damage it should not have dealt to targets without Embers.

Market restrictions and other fixes

Gathered-material trading

The system that restricts Market listings for gathered materials based on gameplay history is being adjusted. Some previously restricted players will be able to trade normally, while restrictions will remain in place for others. This is not a blanket removal of trading restrictions.

For separate coverage of account enforcement and Trust Level, you can read our Trust Level report.

World and interface fixes

  • Empyrean Traces blocked by Halloween decorations at Dawn Legion Base and Zumion Village in Verteron are moved to accessible locations.
  • Fixes the Movement Controls option appearing multiple times under Settings > Key Settings.
  • Fixes a mismatch between an actual title effect and the effect described in its item tooltip.
