The Assessor Matrix is an epic item in ARC Raiders with one important purpose: it upgrades the Explosives Station. When you come across one in a raid, the only real question is whether to recycle it, use it in your workshop or haul it to an extraction you might not reach.

Where to find it
You get the Assessor Matrix by searching ARC Assessors. It can’t be crafted or bought. That makes it an opportunistic find, not something you can farm on demand. When you see one, decide quickly whether it’s worth the risk of the trip out. What it unlocks
Its purpose is the Explosives Station upgrade in Speranza. That sounds like less than it is: explosives are a reliable answer to the tougher part of the ARC bestiary, and a Bastion you can’t break through is loot you’ll never pick up.
The station also opens up crafting that requires it. For example, The Canto is built at Explosives Station 3 from 3× Shredder Gyro, 3× Magnetic Accelerator and 2× Vaporizer Regulator, and on top of that it’s locked behind a blueprint.
Keep it or recycle it?
- Keep it as long as your Explosives Station still has upgrades left. That’s by far the most valuable use, and the item exists mainly for that reason.
- Recycle it once the station is maxed out. One Advanced Mechanical Component and three Advanced ARC Powercells are a decent return for an item you no longer need.
- Don’t die for it. An epic item in your backpack is worthless if you can’t get out with it, a lesson every Raider pays for sooner or later. We cover when to leave in the beginner’s guide.
How to get it out of a raid
An epic item changes your decisions for the rest of the run. Three things are worth sticking to:
- Change your goal. Once the Matrix is in your backpack, it’s no longer about loot, it’s about extraction. Another crate is pure extra risk.
- Avoid fights with players. It’s not just that you might lose. Even a won fight costs you ammo, meds and above all time, during which the ARC around you respawn.
- Take the closer extraction, even if it’s worse. A farther point with better surroundings is still a farther point.
