This section collects news about Pineapple Kid, whose enhanced version Pineapple Kid DX launched for the Game Boy Color almost 28 years after the console’s release. Developed by MHZ Games, it is available as a physical cartridge through ModRetro, where it holds a 4.8 out of 5 star rating. It expands the original Pineapple Kid released for Game Boy in 2021 with more vivid colours, new game modes and a built-in achievement system. At its core it is a puzzle game in which you move through levels, avoid enemies and collect keys to unlock the way forward, with Kwirk and Amazing Tater cited by the developers as inspirations. The package also includes a built-in level editor for designing and testing your own levels, a printed manual and compatibility with Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Super Game Boy and Chromatic. The same month also saw another new Game Boy Color game, Fall From Space, released on ModRetro.
