Marvel’s Wolverine gives you a way to slow down the action without leaving combat. Insomniac Games has included a game speed option in its accessibility menu that you can assign to a controller button, letting you switch between normal speed and a selected slower setting.
One button to change the pace
The setting lets you choose a secondary game speed and map the toggle to whichever controller button you prefer. Once assigned, you can slow the action down and then return to normal speed with the same control.
Player ZANI demonstrated the feature by assigning a 30% game speed setting to the left direction on the D-pad. That setup lets you watch Logan’s claw strikes and the resulting blood effects unfold in slow motion before bringing combat back up to its usual pace.
The practical appeal is control over how quickly the action plays out. You can give individual movements more time on screen, while players recording gameplay can use the toggle to emphasize a particular attack or transition between slower and normal-speed footage.
A returning accessibility feature
Insomniac previously included a game speed option in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. There, players could slow down web-swinging to draw attention to animations and moments during traversal. Marvel’s Wolverine brings that same kind of control to Logan’s action.
Marvel’s Wolverine is now out following a five-year wait. Insomniac has said it is listening to player feedback as it continues refining the experience after launch. That statement does not specify changes to the game speed feature.
