Pokémon GO events explained: Community Day, Raid Day, GO Pass and where to find dates

Pokémon GO events are announced on the official site pokemongolive.com under News and Events, and their times apply in your local time. They come in a handful of recurring types: Community Day, Super Mega Raid Day, Max Battle Day, Hatch Day and multi-day themed events, alongside the monthly GO Pass. This guide explains how each type works, what is free and what costs money. Specific dates appear only as examples from official 2026 announcements, valid as of 20 October 2026.

Where to find official event dates

The only reliable calendar is the official site. On pokemongolive.com/news you will find:

  • News – announcements for each event with exact times and bonuses.
  • Events – All Events and Featured In-Person Events.
  • Seasons – details on the current season.

The site also has Code Redemption, Web Store, In-Person Tickets and Reward Road sections. Event times are in the player’s local time unless an announcement says otherwise, so a Community Day starting at 14:00 starts at 14:00 wherever you are, with no conversion needed. We also cover the game in our Pokémon news.

Paid items are priced in USD or the equivalent in your local currency, as the publisher lists them.

Community Day

For three hours, the featured Pokémon appears more often. You can run into its shiny form and into Pokémon with a Special Background. Evolve it during the event or within 4 hours after it ends and it learns a special move. On Community Day on 10 October 2026 that was Zorua, with Zoroark getting Sucker Punch.

Community Day usually has an optional paid Special Research for 1.99 USD or the local equivalent. You can gift the ticket to friends you have reached at least Great Friends with.

Super Mega Raid Day

A three-hour raid event with Mega Pokémon. The official example is 31 October 2026, 14:00 to 17:00 local time, with Mega Chandelure and the new Mega Level Super Max.

Max Battle Day

Three hours of a Gigantamax Pokémon in six-star Max Battles. Max Battle Day on 3 October 2026, 14:00 to 17:00, came with these bonuses:

  • Max Particles cap raised to 1,600,
  • more Power Spots,
  • up to 3 Special Trades,
  • temporarily 20 Remote Raids per day instead of 10.

Hatch Day

Hatch Day runs over a longer window, for example 17 October 2026 from 11:00 to 17:00. The featured Pokémon hatches more often from 2 km Eggs, you get double Candy from hatching and Eggs need half the usual distance. There is free and paid Timed Research (1.99 USD). Timed Research expires when the event ends, so finish it in time.

Multi-day themed events

Bigger events run for several days. One example is Halloween 2026 Part II, from 1 November 10:00 to 5 November 2026 20:00 local time, with the debut of shiny Greavard and Mega Sableye at Super Max level. Our news story on Halloween 2026 has the details.

GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe

GO Pass is monthly, and its free track activates automatically. You progress by earning GO Points. The October GO Pass runs from 6 October 10:00 to 3 November 2026 10:00 local time, and rewards must be claimed by 5 November 10:00.

Paid options:

  • GO Pass Deluxe – 7.99 USD or the local equivalent.
  • GO Pass Deluxe + 10 Ranks – 9.99 USD or the local equivalent.

You can buy Deluxe in the game or in the Web Store on the official site.
