Rainbow Six Siege ranked: requirements, placements and Legend Division

You unlock ranked in Rainbow Six Siege X (R6 Siege) once you own the Elite or Ultimate Edition, reach Clearance level 50, have at least 10 Attackers and 10 Defenders unlocked and turn on 2-Step verification. On PC you also need a phone number on your Ubisoft account, on console an active online subscription. Below is the full checklist based on Ubisoft Help, how the soft reset and the five placement matches work, what Ranked 3.0 changed and who gets into Legend Division. Status as of 20 October 2026.

Ranked requirements: the checklist

According to Ubisoft Help, Ubisoft uses the same requirements for Ranked, the Siege Cup and Legend Division. These apply on every platform:

  • Elite Edition or Ultimate Edition – there is no ranked in Free Access. The editions and their prices are compared in our guide on whether Siege is free.
  • Clearance level 50 or higher – Clearance level is your account level.
  • At least 10 Attackers and 10 Defenders – unlocked operators on both sides. How to get them is covered in our guide to beginner operators.
  • An active internet connection.

Then there are platform-specific requirements:

PCConsole (PlayStation, Xbox)
phone number added to your Ubisoft accountUbisoft account linked to your platform account
2-Step verification2-Step verification
–active online console subscription

On PlayStation the online subscription is PS Plus, which the store lists as required for online multiplayer. In Year 11 Ubisoft is pushing 2-Step verification through an authenticator app for both ranked and the Marketplace, so it makes sense to set it up with an app right away. For Legend Division it is mandatory.

Rank Points: how your rank changes

According to Ubisoft, your rank changes after every match based on Rank Points (RP). How many RP you gain for a win or lose for a defeat depends on how difficult the matchmaking made that match.

If a match included a player who was later sanctioned by Ubisoft, the RP you gained or lost in that match are rolled back (Rank Points roll back). A match against a sanctioned player will not distort your rank.

Soft reset and 5 placement matches

At the start of every season there is a soft reset, a partial reset of your rank. Your new rank depends on your result from the previous season and on your first 5 matches of the new season, the placement matches.

Your rank for PC matchmaking and for console matchmaking is separate. If you turn on crossplay on console, you play ranked in PC matchmaking and your PC rank differs from your console rank. On PC, crossplay is always on.

What Ranked 3.0 changed

Ranked 3.0 has been in place since season Y11S2 (2 June 2026). Ubisoft highlights three points:

  • You cannot place directly into Champion.
  • KDA (kills, deaths and assists) does not affect your rank.
  • Ubisoft added a minimum RP gain.

We do not list the individual rank names here. The current official Ubisoft material for Ranked 3.0 does not spell them out.

Legend Division: the tier above Champion

Legend Division arrived in season Y11S3 Operation Split Fire. It sits above Champion and its playlist is SoloQ only, so no parties. It opens in the middle of the season and players lock in a region. The top 100 players get a charm showing their placement in the following season.

Who can enter Legend Division:

  • players who are currently Champion,
  • reached at least Platinum last season,
  • have a positive reputation,
  • use 2-Step verification through an authenticator app,
  • and on PC meet the security requirements.

Security requirements on PC

For Legend Division on PC you have to meet the R6 ShieldGuard Secure Platform requirements: TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and Memory Integrity (HVCI). Ubisoft recommends enabling them in exactly this order. You can check the status in the game under Play → Security Requirements and in the Windows Security app under Device security. The game asks for temporary administrator rights to run the check.

If the game shows error 01102, Secure Boot is not set up correctly. The Ubisoft fix is in our guide to Siege error codes. These requirements do not apply to regular ranked.

Seasonal rewards

You will find your ranked rewards under Career → My Rank → Ranks & Rewards. Progress resets every season. Rewards for the highest rank you reached in a season arrive at the start of the next season, within 48 hours. If you receive a temporary ban, you lose your right to the rewards.
