The forced wipe in Rust on PC happens on the first Thursday of every month at 19:00 London time (20:00 CET/CEST). Following that rule, the next forced wipe falls on Thursday 5 November 2026. This guide explains what a wipe deletes and what you keep, the difference between a map wipe and a blueprint wipe, how weekly and biweekly servers work and why Rust Console Edition wipes on a different day. The details are valid as of 20 October 2026.
When is the forced wipe?
A wipe resets a server so everyone starts from scratch. The forced wipe is the one that arrives with the monthly game update. According to the official Facepunch wiki, the default monthly server schedule is the first Thursday of the month at 19:00 London time, and “the default configuration aligns with force wipes”. In Central Europe that is 20:00, in both winter and summer time.
In 2026 every major monthly Facepunch update shipped with a wipe on the first Thursday:
| Month | Update and wipe day |
|---|---|
| January | Thursday 1 January 2026 |
| February | Thursday 5 February 2026 |
| March | Thursday 5 March 2026 |
| April | Thursday 2 April 2026 |
| May | Thursday 7 May 2026 |
| June | Thursday 4 June 2026 |
| July | Thursday 2 July 2026 |
| August | Thursday 6 August 2026 |
| September | Thursday 3 September 2026 |
| October | Thursday 1 October 2026 |
| November | Thursday 5 November 2026 (by the first-Thursday rule) |
Facepunch says so directly in its announcements: it called September the “September wipe (3rd Sep 26)” and said the Naval Update was “coming with the February wipe”. The November date is derived from the rule, it has not been announced. Update news is published on the Facepunch website.
What a wipe deletes and what you keep
Rust has two kinds of wipe:
- Map wipe deletes the map and every building. You start again with a rock and a torch.
- Blueprint wipe also deletes your blueprints, the recipes you have learned, so you have to unlock them again.
The regular wipe is a map wipe and your blueprints stay. In November 2025 Facepunch wrote that “the majority of servers don’t Blueprint wipe, including our Facepunch servers”.
The global blueprint wipe of November 2025
The exception was Thursday 6 November 2025. That day Facepunch wiped blueprints on every server and made the tech tree and research cheaper. Scrap costs changed like this:
| Rarity | Before | Since 6 November 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 20 | 15 |
| Uncommon | 75 | 30 |
| Rare | 125 | 60 |
| Very Rare | 500 | 120 |
Scrap was also removed from workbench crafting at the same time. Facepunch has not confirmed whether blueprint wipes will become regular, its answer was “Maybe. We’re not committing to anything yet.” No further global blueprint wipe was announced between December 2025 and October 2026.
Weekly, biweekly and monthly servers
The monthly schedule is not the only one. Servers have three default schedules:
- Monthly – once a month, on the first Thursday.
- Biweekly – twice a month, on the first and third Thursday.
- Weekly – every Thursday.
The default time for all of them is 19:00 London time. Community servers can change the day and hour or set up a cycle of their own. The server browser shows a server’s schedule with the Monthly, Biweekly and Weekly tags, alongside difficulty (Vanilla, Hardcore, Softcore), region (for example EU) and other tags. Our servers guide explains how to use them to pick a server. If you run your own server, do not change the game mode mid-wipe, it deletes players and their inventories.
How to tell a wipe is coming
The map itself shows a countdown to the next wipe, in the Nuclear Missile Silo monument. During the last 24 hours before a wipe, “endgame” events also run: F-15E jets fly over the map and Bradley APCs patrol the roads. What to do first after a wipe is covered in our beginner’s guide.

Rust Console Edition runs a different schedule
On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Rust Console Edition by Double Eleven is a standalone game with its own servers and its own wipe schedule. The first-Thursday rule does not apply:
- Weekly servers wipe every Thursday at 18:00 UTC.
- Monthly servers wipe on the last Thursday of the month at 18:00 UTC.
Double Eleven also separates a map wipe (buildings, loot and player activity, blueprints stay) from a blueprint wipe, which deletes the map and all learned blueprints and counts as a full wipe. Console players should follow the Double Eleven FAQ. The differences between the versions and their prices are in our price guide.
Hardcore servers
Hardcore servers wiped both the map and blueprints every month. Facepunch shut down its official Hardcore servers, announcing it on 7 December 2023.
