SINNERS Head to Sweden: Five Matches in One Day and a Major Dream Hanging by a Thread

Updated 3 October 2026, 11:54

Fourth place at the 1win Private Club in Belgrade is barely behind them and the Czech roster is packing its bags again, this time heading north. Tomorrow SINNERS step into ROG Journey Autumn in the Swedish city of Skoevde, an event with a $20,000 prize pool. Friday belongs to the group stage, and it is a long one: five matches in a single day, in a format built so teams can farm VRS points efficiently.

A Group of Six, Eight Wins on the Table

Groups are made up of six teams playing round robin, and across the whole event a team can collect up to eight wins. Every group-stage match is a single map, so there is no room to warm up slowly – one bad half can decide the entire series.

The attendance list is stacked with familiar names and SINNERS run into two of them right away. At 14:00 they open against the Swedish side Lilmix, and an hour later the well-known Turkish organization Eternal Fire is waiting. After that come the Ukrainian team Anteiku and the European lineup Nordic Partners, opponents who look weaker on paper. The day closes at 18:00 against tournament favorite 100 Thieves.

What matters here is not only reaching the play-off. For SINNERS the priority is blunt: collect as many wins as possible.

Why Every Single Win Matters

According to the latest calculation from analyst Udknud, SINNERS are not mathematically out of the PGL Major picture yet. Based on 50,000 simulations and 45.8 million played matches, he currently puts their chances at 1.5 percent. If they win the event in Sweden outright, that number climbs to 8.3 percent. In other words, one deep run keeps them alive, but one deep run on its own will not be enough – ideally they would need to take two LAN events in October.

For the full context of how their situation got this tight, we covered their fourth place in Belgrade in a separate article.

What Comes After Sweden

The schedule does not ease up. After ROG Journey, two online tournaments are waiting, and those are the dangerous ones, because losses there can hurt the ranking badly. At the end of the month the team travels out again to chase the miracle. From the end of September to the beginning of November, SINNERS will have played events in Serbia, Sweden, Romania and Portugal.

  • October 2: ROG Journey Autumn group stage (five matches)
  • Mid-October: two online tournaments with plenty of downside risk
  • End of October: DraculaN (Romania) and HyperX Retake (Portugal)
