Valorant on PS5 and Xbox: account linking, what carries over and crossplay

Valorant runs on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Europe is one of the supported regions. Download the game from your console’s store and log in with your Riot account. Skins, Valorant Points and the battle pass are shared between PC and console, but rank and MMR are not, and on console you never face PC players. Below you will find the requirements, account linking, what carries over, crossplay and controllers, all based on Riot’s console guide as of 20 October 2026.

Requirements: region, console and a clean account

Riot lists three conditions for playing on console:

  • you live in the NA, EU, JP or BR region, or now also in part of Oceania (Australia and New Zealand),
  • your account has no ban or suspension, neither in Valorant nor at Riot account level,
  • you own an Xbox Series X|S or a PlayStation 5.

Australia and New Zealand were added on 23 September 2026, as covered in our news on the Oceania launch. According to Riot’s announcement, you don’t need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass to play Valorant. Only the three points above count.

If you tick all three boxes, open your console’s store, download Valorant and log in. Installing on PC is a different story, covered in our download guide.

Linking your Riot account to PSN or Xbox

You cannot play on console without a Riot account, it is mandatory. When you link it to your PlayStation Network or Xbox account, make sure you pick the right Riot account. Riot recommends linking your main one, the same account you play on PC. Account content is shared across platforms, so if you link a different account, your skins and PC progress will not show up on console.

What carries over between PC and console and what does not

One Riot account means one inventory. The only split is on the competitive side:

Shared between PC and consoleNot shared
account levelrank
currencies: Valorant Points, Kingdom Credits, RadianiteMMR
recruited agentsmatchmaking (consoles do not play against PC)
weapon skins
battle pass and its progress
mission progress (daily, weekly)

Anything you buy with VP on one platform is yours on the other. What VP costs and how the Night Market works is explained in our Valorant prices guide. Agents you recruited on PC are ready to play on console straight away.

Console has its own rank and MMR. Console and PC players never meet in a match, so carrying the rating over would make no sense. Even with a high PC rank you start your competitive climb on console from scratch. How ranks work is covered in our ranks guide.

Crossplay: consoles only

Valorant supports crossplay across consoles. Xbox players can face PlayStation players, but not PC players. Riot puts this down to fair competitive play.

Two limits worth keeping in mind:

  • crossplay only works within the same region,
  • on Xbox, the in-game toggle is not enough, you also have to enable crossplay in the Xbox settings.

If you cannot team up with a friend on the other console, check these two things first.

Xbox Game Pass

With Xbox Game Pass you get the same Valorant benefits on Xbox as elsewhere. That does not apply on PlayStation, where Game Pass adds nothing to Valorant.

Controllers, not keyboard and mouse

Valorant on console is played with a controller. Riot supports the PS5 DualSense and the Xbox Series X|S controller. Third-party controllers are not officially supported. You can try them, but if you run into problems, you will have to contact the manufacturer.

Keyboard and mouse are not supported on console. Trying to use them or to trick the console (spoofing) will get you banned. If you want to play with a mouse, that means PC, where the game is protected by the Riot Vanguard anti-cheat.

What about Valorant Mobile?

The mobile version of Valorant is so far only available in China, and Riot has not announced a global release date.

Where to follow updates

What is new in the ongoing season is summed up in our guide to the current act. The official requirements are in Riot’s console guide.

FAQ

Does my rank carry over from PC to console?

No. Rank and MMR are separate for PC and console because each platform has its own matchmaking. Account level, currencies, agents, skins, the battle pass and missions do carry over.

Can I play on PS5 with a friend on PC?

No. Crossplay only works between consoles, meaning PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and only within the same region.

Can I play Valorant on console with keyboard and mouse?

No. Riot does not support keyboard and mouse on console and bans attempts to use them, such as spoofing. Supported controllers are the DualSense and the Xbox Series X|S controller.

Can I play Valorant on console in Europe?

Yes. EU is one of the regions Riot lists as supported for console, alongside NA, JP, BR and now Australia and New Zealand.

Why is crossplay not working on my Xbox?

On Xbox you have to enable crossplay both in the game and in the console settings. The other player also has to be in the same region.
