The upcoming paid expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has its first official piece of music you can actually listen to right now. Los Angeles label Milan Records, a Sony Music Entertainment subsidiary, has put out a soundtrack EP built from tracks that will appear in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past. It is out across the usual streaming services, so you get an early taste of how the expansion is going to sound long before you can play it.
What is on the EP
The release runs roughly 13 minutes across five tracks. The compositions come from Magda Urbańska, Daniel Elms and Marcin Przybyłowicz – the last of whom is a familiar name, since he was one of the principal composers on the original The Witcher 3.

How Songs of the Past fits into CDPR’s plans
CD Projekt Red announced Songs of the Past shortly before The Witcher 3’s 11th anniversary in late May 2026. It is the third paid expansion for the studio’s open-world RPG and it is planned for release sometime in 2027.
The first big public showing happened at Gamescom 2026, where CDPR gave an early look at the expansion and the first glimpse of Lettenhove, the new region Geralt will be exploring. The EP now lands as part of the expansion’s ramping-up marketing campaign.
The remaster arrives right behind it
The timing is not accidental – the soundtrack drops just days before another official The Witcher 3 release. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is CDPR’s comprehensive overhaul of the 2015 RPG together with its first two premium DLC. On top of visual upgrades, it brings:
- modernized tutorials and improved menu navigation
- equipment transmogrification and an expanded photo mode
- combat and traversal refinements, reworked mount handling and monster behavior
- reworked skill trees and looting system
- cross-platform mod support and new accessibility options
On PC the new version also supports path tracing, ray reconstruction, Nvidia DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4 and Intel XeSS 2.0. Both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are included at no extra cost for owners of the base game – roughly $20 worth of DLC handed over for free, which also conveniently reminds everyone how big CDPR’s paid expansions tend to be.
