Wo Long 2 Launches March 4, 2027, With a Free Alpha Demo Available Now

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will launch on March 4, 2027, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Team Ninja’s action-soulslike sequel will also be available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on release day. You can try it ahead of launch with a free playable alpha, but only until September 30.

Where you can play the alpha

The demo is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Nintendo Switch 2 is among the platforms getting the full game, but it is not included in this alpha test.

That gives you a limited window to check out the sequel before its March release. This is an alpha rather than a finished version, and Team Ninja specifically describes the included character creator as a work in progress.

Changban battles and multiplayer for three

Team Ninja says the demo lets you explore the open field of Changban and fight alongside Liu Bei’s army against Cao Cao’s pursuing forces. You will also encounter demons drawing inspiration from legendary Chinese classics.

The alpha includes online multiplayer for up to three players, so you can try its battles with others rather than playing alone. You can also experiment with the unfinished character creator.

Complete the demo to earn a cosmetic

Finishing the demo unlocks the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet cosmetic for use in the full game. Simply trying the alpha is not enough: completion is required to earn the reward.

Wo Long 2 was announced at this year’s Xbox Showcase. It follows the original Wo Long, which launched in early 2023.
