To run Battlefield 6 on PC you need at least an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB of RAM and an Nvidia RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT or Intel Arc A380. Even a high-end rig will not launch the game, though, unless TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are switched on. Below you will find the minimum and recommended specs from Steam, the performance EA promises for each tier, the install size and why the game does not work on Steam Deck. Everything here was checked on 19 October 2026.
Minimum and recommended specs
The table uses the official requirements from the Steam store page. The game launched on 10 October 2025 and on Steam it runs on Windows only.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 11 |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | Intel Core i7-10700 / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| GPU | Nvidia RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB / Intel Arc A380 | Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT / Intel Arc B580 |
| DirectX | 12 | 12 |
| Storage | 55 GB | 80 GB |
| Security | TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, HVCI, VBS | TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, HVCI, VBS |
Steam also lists a broadband internet connection. The game needs it at all times, including for the campaign.
What each tier is meant to deliver
Ahead of launch, EA explained what performance to expect from each spec. That helps you judge whether your PC is good enough to actually play or only to boot the game.

- Minimum: the target is 1080p at 30 FPS on the Low preset. Your graphics card should have at least 6 GB of VRAM, and your 16 GB of memory should run in dual channel at 2133 MHz.
- Recommended: 1440p at 60 FPS on High, or 1080p at 80+ FPS on Low. Plan for 8 GB of VRAM and 3200 MHz memory in dual channel.
In Windows, EA recommends turning on Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling. According to EA, the specs cover seven graphics presets, and it advises installing the latest drivers and your GPU maker’s optimisation software. For tuning the game for higher frame rates, see our guide to the best settings.
Ultra and Ultra+
EA also published two higher tiers for powerful machines. Ultra targets 4K at 60 FPS on Ultra or 1440p at 144 FPS on Medium: an RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX with 16 GB of VRAM, an Intel Core i9-12900 or Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 32 GB of RAM. Ultra+ aims for 4K at 144 FPS on High, or 4K at 240+ FPS on Ultra with DLSS (Multi Frame Generation). That calls for an RTX 5080, an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K or Ryzen 7 9800X3D and 32 GB of RAM.
TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, HVCI and VBS
Both Steam specs share the same line: “TPM 2.0 Enabled, UEFI Secure Boot Enabled, HVCI Capable, VBS Capable”. Battlefield 6 is protected by EA Javelin anticheat, which relies on Secure Boot to detect and remove cheaters. Without Secure Boot enabled, the game will not run on PC.
Javelin also requires Windows 10 version 20H1 (10.0.19041) or newer. An older Windows 10 build is not enough, even though the table only says “Windows 10 64-bit”.
How to check whether Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are on, and how to enable them, is covered step by step in our Secure Boot guide.
The Windows version requirement and the manual anticheat install are covered in EA’s Javelin help.
How much space Battlefield 6 needs
Steam currently lists 55 GB for the minimum and 80 GB for the recommended spec. EA recommends installing the game on an SSD. Leave some headroom too: according to EA, content may download automatically and take up extra space. EA has not published an official figure for how much the first year of updates added, so we do not quote one here.
Battlefield 6 on Steam Deck
Battlefield 6 does not run on Steam Deck. Valve rates it “Unsupported” because SteamOS does not support the game. According to PCGamesN the anticheat is the reason, and it blocks every version of the game on Deck, including the free-to-play Battlefield REDSEC.
Alternative: GeForce Now
If your PC is not up to it, the game is supported on the GeForce Now streaming service. You do have to own it on the EA app or on Steam. Prices and where to buy are in our overview of editions and prices.

FAQ
Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB of RAM, an Nvidia RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB or Intel Arc A380, DirectX 12 and 55 GB of storage. TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot must be enabled as well.
Steam lists 55 GB for the minimum and 80 GB for the recommended spec. EA recommends an SSD and warns that updates may need additional space.
No. Valve rates it as unsupported because SteamOS does not support the game. According to PCGamesN the anticheat blocks it, and that applies to Battlefield REDSEC too.
Not on PC. EA Javelin anticheat requires Secure Boot and TPM 2.0, and both are listed directly in the Steam requirements.
EA quotes 1440p at 60 FPS on the High preset, or 1080p at more than 80 FPS on Low.
