Battlefield 6 costs €69.99 on Steam, and the Game of the Year Edition costs €99.99. You do not necessarily have to buy it at all, though: since 13 October 2026 it has been on Game Pass through EA Play. Where you can play Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6 from Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios launched on 10 October 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. On PC you can buy it on Steam, in the EA app or on the Epic Games Store. On Steam it runs on Windows only. Playing requires a permanent internet connection and an EA account.
How much Battlefield 6 costs

What the Game of the Year Edition includes
The Game of the Year Edition has been on sale since 13 October 2026 and contains:
- the full Battlefield 6 game,
- the Ultimate Shortcut Kit, progression shortcuts for all four classes,
- a Battlefield Pro token for one season (Battle Pass, 25 tier skips, +5% XP),
- the “Trusted Reserve” skin,
- the Phantom bundle: 4 soldier skins, weapon packs, a tank skin and XP boosts.
If you already own the base game, you can buy the Game of the Year Upgrade on Steam for €30.
Game Pass and EA Play
Since 13 October 2026, Battlefield 6 has been available in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass through EA Play. You can play it on Xbox Series X|S, on PC and via the cloud. EA Play is part of Game Pass Ultimate. For the rest of that month’s line-up, see our October Game Pass article.
On PlayStation 5, the PlayStation Store lists Battlefield 6 as included with EA Play, EA’s own subscription. This applies to the Standard Edition. The Game of the Year Edition is not part of EA Play. If you play through EA Play Pro on PC, you need the EA app.
Battlefield REDSEC is free
The battle royale Battlefield REDSEC launched on 28 October 2025 as a standalone free-to-play game. You do not need to own Battlefield 6 to play it. What it offers is covered in our REDSEC guide.
Battle Pass and Battlefield Pro
The Battle Pass is bought separately for 1,100 BFC (Battlefield Coins). A pack of 1,100 BFC costs €9.99 on Steam. The more expensive Battlefield Pro costs €24.99 on Steam and adds 25 tier skips, +5% XP, a bonus path, a radio station and the ability to host Portal servers for up to 100 players. Pro can only be bought with real money. If you already own the Battle Pass and upgrade to Pro, you get the 1,100 BFC back. The Battle Pass covers both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. Crossplay: who you play with and how to turn it off
Crossplay connects PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and is on by default. On consoles, matchmaking prefers other console players and only adds PC players when there are not enough console players.
According to EA, you can only turn crossplay off on Xbox and PS5:
- Open the settings (cog icon, Settings).
- Select System.
- Under Setup, switch Cross-play off.
There is no crossplay setting on PC. You cannot change the option while in a party, on a server or during matchmaking. Once it is off, you only play with people on the same platform.
Friends on another platform
Press R2, RT or TAB to open EA Connect. In Player search, enter your friend’s EA ID or platform ID and choose Add friend. More details are in EA Help on crossplay.
EA account and what you need on PC
On Steam you must link your EA account to Steam, but you do not need the EA app. If you buy the game on the Epic Games Store or play through EA Play Pro, you do have to install the EA app. On PC, Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are mandatory as well; see our article on system requirements.
