In Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero you redeem codes on HoYoverse’s official website, while in Wuthering Waves you do it in the game through the Terminal menu. In all four games the reward then lands in your in-game mail. Below are the steps, the requirements and the most common reasons a code fails. You will not find actual codes here: they expire quickly, and any list would be wrong within days.
Where to redeem: overview
| Game | Where you enter the code | Where the reward goes |
|---|---|---|
| Genshin Impact | website genshin.hoyoverse.com/en/gift | in-game mail, kept for 30 days by default |
| Honkai: Star Rail | website hsr.hoyoverse.com/gift | in-game mail |
| Zenless Zone Zero | website zenless.hoyoverse.com/redemption | in-game mail |
| Wuthering Waves | in game: Terminal > Settings > Other Settings > Redemption Code | Terminal > Mail |
Wuthering Waves has no website for codes, so everything happens in the game. For Zenless Zone Zero we stick to the website, because we could not confirm the in-game route from an official source.
Redeeming on the HoYoverse website (Genshin, HSR, ZZZ)
The redemption page looks almost the same for all three HoYoverse games:
- Open the official code page for your game (links in the table above).
- Log in with the HoYoverse account you play on.
- Pick the server (America, Europe, Asia or TW, HK, MO) where your character is.
- Check that the page shows your character’s nickname. If it does not, you have the wrong server or account selected.
- Paste the code and confirm with “Redeem”.
- Start the game and collect the reward from your mail.
In Genshin Impact, in-game mail is kept for 30 days by default, so do not leave the reward sitting there for too long.
Two conditions must be met before you start: you already have a character in the game, and your HoYoverse account is linked (in the User Center). Without that the page has nothing to attach the code to.
The server matters more than it seems. Progress in HoYoverse games is shared across platforms only on the same server, and nothing carries over between America, Europe and Asia. So always pick the server you actually play on. How servers and cross-save work on PC, mobile and consoles is explained in our guide to platforms and cross-save.
Redeeming in Wuthering Waves
- Open the Terminal in the game.
- Click the Settings gear in the bottom right.
- Go to Other Settings and find Redemption Code.
- Enter the code and confirm with Redeem.
- Collect the reward from your mail:
Terminal > Mail.
Kuro Games does not run a website for redeeming Wuthering Waves codes. If a website asks you to enter a WuWa code there, it is not the publisher’s official page.
Why a code does not work
If a code fails, go through these points (they apply to the HoYoverse websites):
- The code has expired. Expired codes do not work.
- You already used it. Each code can only be used once.
- You already redeemed a code of the same type. In Genshin and HSR, one character cannot use several codes of the same type.
- You have no character in the game. Launch the game and create one first.
- Your account is not linked. Check the HoYoverse account link in the User Center.
- You picked a different server. The nickname on the page has to match your character.
Redemption also cannot be undone. If you send a code to the wrong server or character by mistake, you cannot move it back.
Where to look for codes
Look for new codes in each game’s official channels. We do not link to code list sites, because codes expire quickly. Only ever enter a code on the official pages from the table above, or directly in the game for Wuthering Waves.
How banners and pity work is covered in our guide to gacha and pity, and how to keep an eye on a child’s spending is in our guide for parents.
