Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero and Wuthering Waves are all free to download, and all of them include in-game purchases. You can play them on PC, mobile and consoles, but they differ in where you find them on Steam and on Xbox. Progress carries across platforms only when you play on the same server. This overview is valid as of 20 October 2026.
Who publishes them and what they cost
Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail (HSR) and Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) are published by COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD. under the HoYoverse brand. Wuthering Waves (WuWa) is published by Kuro Games, listed in stores as “KURO GAMES” or “HK KURO GAMES LIMITED”.
All four games are free to download: the Czech App Store lists them at a price of 0, PlayStation lists them as “Free”, ZZZ and WuWa are free on Steam, and the Czech Microsoft Store lists Genshin, ZZZ and WuWa at 0. All of them do include in-game purchases.
According to the PEGI notes on playstation.com, those purchases include random items, which is the gacha part. How banners and pity work is explained in gacha pity explained, and how to set spending limits for kids in parents and spending.

PlayStation: PS4 and online play
Genshin Impact was removed from the PlayStation Store for PS4 on 10 September 2025 at 06:00 (UTC+8), and since 8 April 2026 at 06:00 (UTC+8) PS4 support has ended: you can no longer log in there and no updates arrive. The PS5 version keeps working. All four games require an online connection on PS5, and cloud streaming on PS5 and PS Portal needs PS Plus Premium. You can find the game pages on playstation.com.
What your PC or phone needs to handle is covered in system requirements.
Cross-save: progress across platforms
Cross-save works in all four games, but always only on the same server. HoYoverse games have America, Europe, Asia and TW/HK/MO servers, and progress does not transfer between them. If you start on the Europe server on PC, you need to play on Europe on PS5 as well.
Genshin Impact
On PlayStation you link your PSN account to the email of your HoYoverse account and from then on you sign in on the console with PSN only. Your server is set by your PSN account’s region. On Xbox you link your Microsoft account to your HoYoverse account. You cannot sign in with a Microsoft account on iOS, Android or PC, though, only with a HoYoverse account or supported third-party accounts.
Honkai: Star Rail
Data on PC, Android, iOS and PS5 syncs on the same server. PS5 supports the America, Europe and Asia servers, TW/HK/MO is not available on PlayStation. On PS5 the server is set by your PSN account’s location and you cannot pick it manually.
Zenless Zone Zero
Xbox, PC, Android, iOS and PS5 sync progress on the same server. To play on both Xbox and PS5, your Microsoft and PSN accounts must both be linked to the same HoYoverse account.
Wuthering Waves
Progress syncs on the same server between PC, Android, iOS, Xbox and PS5, but not between servers such as Asia and Europe. On Xbox you need a Kuro Games account linked to your Microsoft account, and you choose your server at first login without being able to change it later. On PS5 your server is set by your PSN account’s region. Purchases from one platform, such as Lunites or the Lunite Subscription, show up on all others once your account is linked.
