Does Cyberpunk 2077 have cheats or a command console? The short answer: officially, no. The game has no console or cheats for players, and on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 you won’t find any at all. On PC there’s a community mod, Cyber Engine Tweaks, that opens up access to the developer console, plus the official REDmod tool for installing mods. This guide explains what each one does, where to get it and what risks mods carry in version 2.x (current patch 2.31).
Official cheats and console: there aren’t any
CD PROJEKT RED didn’t put any cheat codes or a player-accessible console into Cyberpunk 2077. Both PC Gamer and GamesRadar+ say the same. Everything you’ll find online under “Cyberpunk 2077 cheats” relies on community mods for PC.
We’re deliberately not listing commands here. Most command guides were written before Update 2.0, and we couldn’t confirm from two independent sources that they work with the current version of the game.
PS5, Xbox and Switch 2: no cheats
There’s no route to cheats on consoles. The community console via a mod only works on PC, so no cheats or button combinations work on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2. The game does have the current version 2.31 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Mac and Switch 2.

Cyber Engine Tweaks: a community console for PC
Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET for short) is a community mod, not an official part of the game. It’s what opens up access to the developer console. It works on PC only.
Its weak spot is major updates. After every bigger patch, CET and other mods stop working until their authors update them. So if the game has just been patched, expect the mod console to be unavailable for a while.
We don’t link to specific mod pages here. Mods are made by the community and CD PROJEKT RED doesn’t vet them.
REDmod: official mod support
REDmod is a free official DLC released on 6 September 2022. It adds built-in support for installing and loading mods, along with modding tools. It doesn’t add cheats by itself; it’s a tool for mods.

- Where to get it: on Steam and GOG you download it as a free DLC; here’s REDmod on Steam. On the Epic Games Store it installs automatically since version 1.6.
- Where mods go: copy REDmod-compatible mods into the
Cyberpunk 2077modsfolder. You can recognise them by theirinfo.jsonfile. - How to enable them: you switch installed mods on in REDlauncher or in GOG Galaxy.
How to install mods according to CD PROJEKT RED
On its modding support page, CD PROJEKT RED recommends downloading mods from Nexus Mods via the Vortex manager. It also points out that mods are made by the community, that the studio doesn’t vet them or take responsibility for them, and that it may not support a modified game. If you run into trouble with mods, official support may not be able to help.
Much like with Witcher 3 mods, the rule is simple: only install what you understand, and have a plan for rolling back.
Mod risks and how to avoid them
- Major updates break mods. After Update 2.0, CD PROJEKT RED strongly recommended uninstalling old mods. Outdated mods can cause critical errors.
- Disable mods before updating. Before you launch a new version of the game, uninstall or disable your mods and bring them back once their authors have updated them.
- Back up your saves. Before you start experimenting with mods, copy your saved games somewhere safe. If something goes wrong, you won’t lose your progress.
- Plan for PC. Cyber Engine Tweaks and REDmod are both a PC thing. What your machine needs to handle is in our system requirements guide.
To follow what changes with each version, and so when mods are likely to stop working, see our Update 2.3 guide.
Rules for mods
Mods have to follow the Fan Content Guidelines and the game’s licence agreement (EULA). The guidelines don’t allow commercial use of mods.
