FC 27 on PC brings new graphics presets, a video memory indicator and two default keyboard layouts. This guide covers the frame rates EA lists for each spec, what to do if the game stutters, where to turn off crossplay and how Authentic and Competitive gameplay differ. Everything here comes from official EA sources and reflects the game as of 20 October 2026. You will not find a recommended camera setup, because we have no verified source for one.
Graphics presets and target FPS
FC 27 adds Performance and Balanced graphics presets. In the requirements on help.ea.com, EA lists the hardware on which the game should hold each frame rate. The High and Ultra specs in Performance mode target at least 80 and 120 FPS respectively. You can still adjust individual graphics settings by hand.

The CPUs, graphics cards and storage for each spec are listed in our system requirements guide. For every spec EA stresses dual-channel memory, meaning two modules: 2× 4 GB for minimum, 2× 16 GB for Ultra. Performance is worse in single channel.
VRAM indicator and Enhanced Ultra Visuals
The graphics menu has a new VRAM indicator. It estimates the maximum video memory your chosen settings will use, so you can see straight away how much of your graphics card’s memory they need. Above Ultra there is an Enhanced Ultra Visuals option, which is off by default.
Keyboard and controller
FC 27 adds two new default keyboard layouts: WASD and arrow keys. You can customise both further. On PC the game has full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense.
EA is aware of issues with mouse controls. For late October 2026 it plans to fine-tune the camera when playing with a mouse and to fix the mouse in “Be a Goalie”.
If the game stutters or input feels delayed
EA’s steps on help.ea.com for stuttering and input delay:
- Lower the target frame rate, for example from 60 to 30 FPS.
- Lower graphics quality and resolution.
- Close background apps: browsers, overlays and recording software.
- Check that your RAM runs in dual channel.
- Update your graphics drivers.
- Check the Windows power mode, your laptop’s performance mode and the settings in your GPU control panel.
Known PC issues
As of 30 September 2026, EA lists two known bugs. Cloth Quality set to Medium reduces performance. Frame Rate Limit is not applied correctly after switching monitors, so if the game ignores your FPS cap after a monitor change, this is the bug. Besides the mouse fixes, late October should bring a fix for Xbox Elite Series controller vibration and for flickering while an Ultimate Team match loads. EA is also investigating crashes and micro-stutter during cutscenes and set pieces.

Authentic or Competitive gameplay
Authentic gameplay is used in Career Mode and Kick Off and can be tuned with sliders. Kick Off offers both Competitive and Authentic. Title Update 1.0.1 raised the default Jockey and Sprint Jockey speed slider, but only in Authentic.
Manual defending is harder in FC 27. On 13 October 2026 EA acknowledged a “learning curve” and said it is watching the data. No change has been announced yet.
In The Grounds small-sided matches you do not choose assists: shooting is fixed to Manual and passing to Fully Assisted. The camera sits behind your player like a Pro camera.
Crossplay: how to turn it off
Crossplay is on by default the first time you launch the game, and it only works within a console generation. PC plays with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while PS4 and Xbox One form a second group. Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 do not support crossplay in FC. According to help.ea.com, you turn it off like this:
- From the main menu:
EA Connect → Social settings → Cross-play → Cross-play settingsand set “Cross-play Enabled” to No. - Alternatively:
Main Menu → Customise → Online Settings → Matchmaking Options. - In Ultimate Team:
Main Menu → Ultimate Team → Settings → Matchmaking Settings.
You cannot change crossplay during a match. The steps are the same on consoles. Cross-progression only works within a platform family (PS4 to PS5, Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S), not between PlayStation and Xbox, and on PlayStation only in Ultimate Team.
Steam: friends and faster launch
If you play through Steam, your Steam friends show up automatically in EA Connect and are easy to add as EA friends. EA has also sped up launching the game on Steam: fewer windows open, and in EA’s tests launch was up to around 50% faster on some setups.
On Steam you still need an EA account linked to Steam, the EA app installed and an internet connection. The game runs on Windows only.

It depends on your hardware. EA lists 60 FPS for both the minimum spec (720p, Low) and the recommended spec (1080p, Medium), 80 FPS for High – Performance and 120 FPS for Ultra – Performance at 1440p. Cutscenes run at half that.
From the main menu via EA Connect → Social settings → Cross-play → Cross-play settings, where you set Cross-play Enabled to No. In FUT it is Ultimate Team → Settings → Matchmaking Settings. It cannot be changed during a match.
EA recommends lowering the target frame rate, graphics and resolution, closing background apps, checking that RAM runs in dual channel and updating drivers. Cloth Quality on Medium is also a known cause.
