FC 27 PC requirements: six specs from EA
EA’s help page lists a graphics preset, resolution and target frame rate for every spec. The first number applies to gameplay, the second to cutscenes. All specs assume DirectX 12, 64-bit Windows with the latest update and a broadband internet connection.

Each Balanced and Performance pair uses the same hardware. The difference is the goal: Balanced aims for a higher resolution and preset, Performance for a higher frame rate. Both Ultra specs call for an Intel Core i9-12900K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
EA asks for Windows 11 for the High and Ultra specs. The minimum and recommended specs also run on Windows 10. The Performance and Balanced presets are new in FC 27 and you can still change individual graphics settings by hand, so treat the table as a starting point rather than a ceiling.
How much storage FC 27 needs
On PC, plan for 100 GB of free space in every spec. EA only accepts a traditional hard drive (HDD) for the minimum spec, and even there it recommends an SSD. From the recommended spec upwards, an SSD is required.
EA does not state the install size on PS5, PS4, Xbox or Switch, so you will not find it here. On PC, commentary and text in languages other than English and your client language (Steam, EA app or Epic Games Store) are downloaded separately. If you switch commentary language, expect an extra download.
Why memory matters: dual channel
EA lists RAM in dual-channel mode for every spec, meaning two modules running in two channels. According to EA, single-channel memory performs worse. For the minimum spec that means 2× 4 GB, for Ultra 2× 16 GB. A single 8 GB stick meets the capacity, but not EA’s recommendation.
Dual channel is also on EA’s checklist for stutter or input delay. The other steps are a lower target frame rate (for example 30 instead of 60 FPS), lower graphics settings and resolution, closing background apps (browsers, overlays, recording), updated GPU drivers and checking the Windows power mode or your laptop’s performance mode. What else the PC version needs
- Windows only. There is no Mac or Linux version on Steam.
- EA account and EA app. Even if you buy on Steam, you have to link your EA account to Steam and install the EA app.
- Internet connection. The game uses EA online activation and Denuvo Anti-tamper.
- Controller. Steam lists full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense.

FC 27 does not run on Steam Deck
Valve rates FC 27 as Unsupported on Steam Deck. The reason is not performance but an anti-cheat that Steam Deck does not support. The game has the same rating for SteamOS in general. Lowering the graphics will not help, the game simply will not start on the Deck.
