The studio published a post titled „The Next Chapter for Bungie”, in which Studio Head Poria Torkan and Head of Product Josh Deane outlined plans for both Destiny and Marathon. Bungie announced it will bring back all content previously removed into the so-called content vault – work on restoring unvaulted campaigns, destinations and raids has already begun, and the studio says the process will take several months. The return could also include old weapons and armor, possibly modernized for T4 and T5 tiers. Bungie stated that removing content had a long-term impact on player trust and satisfaction; fan projects had previously restored the Leviathan raid and some vaulted locations outside the official game. The last major Destiny 2 update launched on June 9, and Bungie announced the end of support for the game as of May 21, while fans called either for Destiny 3 or for closing out the series – a petition for Destiny 3 gathered over 410,000 signatures. The studio also denied earlier rumors about merging Destiny 2 and Marathon, which is set to receive a major update in the form of Season 3 in December.
