Games issued a statement on Hogwarts Legacy 2, whose existence was confirmed in a WB shareholder letter that also highlighted the successes of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, plus a plan to focus on four key billion-dollar franchises: Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and DC Comics. Warner Bros. Games is also merging with Paramount Games Studio following Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, and the new gaming division has not been named yet; Paramount Games Studio is working on further titles such as Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra and Star Trek: Shadow Frontier. The first Hogwarts Legacy became the best-selling game of 2023 and was overlooked at The Game Awards that year. Speculation suggests the sequel will be inspired by HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series and that a reveal could come at The Game Awards on December 10.
