This section collects news about Machinarium from Amanita Design. The studio has announced a sequel called Machinarium 2, which continues the story of Josef and Berta from the first game. It is coming to Windows and macOS via Steam, where wishlisting is already open; the developer plans further platforms but has not announced a date, and the release date of Machinarium 2 remains unannounced. The game keeps the hand-drawn visuals and the absence of text dialogue, with the main new feature being the option to control both characters, Josef and Berta, and switch between them. There is no co-op mode and the game is listed as a singleplayer puzzle title. The music is again composed by Tomáš Dvořák, aka Floex, who scored the first game. The 2009 original Machinarium is discounted by 80% to $2.99 until October 15.
