PlayStation has confirmed the exact go-live window for the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition upgrade. The paid upgrade unlocks on October 1 at 9am PT / 12pm ET, and it bundles everything released so far with two brand-new pieces of content: a story expansion and a single-player survival mode.
What you get in Complete Edition
Complete Edition is the full package rather than a standalone DLC. It includes:
- the complete base game
- the Legends multiplayer mode
- all bonuses previously tied to the Digital Deluxe Edition
- the new story expansion Echoes of Sekigahara
- the new survival mode Most Wanted
If you own Ghost of Yotei or its Digital Deluxe Edition already, the upgrade costs $14.99. Buying the whole Complete Edition package outright runs $69.99 on the PlayStation Store. There’s also a pre-order style incentive: purchase Complete Edition by September 30 and you unlock a special armor set inspired by Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima.
Echoes of Sekigahara: two timelines, one story
The expansion puts Atsu back on a personal collision course. She runs into an old acquaintance who drags up difficult memories, and the story then jumps between two periods of her life. Part of the DLC plays out during Atsu’s time on the mainland, while the rest takes place in the present day, in a valley once held by The Snake.
On the loot side, Echoes of Sekigahara adds new heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes and more, so it’s not purely a narrative add-on.
Most Wanted is Sucker Punch’s take on a roguelike
The second big addition sits outside the main campaign. Most Wanted is a survival mode that Sucker Punch describes as its “spin on a roguelike”: you hunt down bounties, earn gameplay perks as you go, and unlock extra playable characters, each with their own weapon affinities and abilities. If you’ve wrung the open world dry, this is the run-based reason to come back.
Free additions for everyone
Not everything is locked behind the upgrade. The October 1 patch also brings new accessibility options and quality-of-life tweaks, and those land for all players – including anyone who skips Complete Edition entirely.
Where the game stands
Ghost of Yotei launched on October 2, 2025 as a standalone sequel to Sucker Punch’s 2020 samurai action-adventure Ghost of Tsushima. Reviews were strong out of the gate: the game holds a Top Critic Average of 87 and a 94% critic recommendation score on OpenCritic.
