Injustice 3 still hasn’t been announced, but the leaks keep coming. The latest one doesn’t come from a trailer or a store listing – it comes from a stunt worker’s resume, which names the project outright and lists the two characters they worked on. If it holds up, we now have the first two names on the roster of NetherRealm Studios’ next fighting game.
The two leaked characters
The resume points to work on a game called Injustice 3, and specifically on two fighters:
- Batwoman
- Supergirl
Supergirl is the less surprising of the two. She had a prominent role in Injustice 2 and is already established in the series’ story. Batwoman is the more interesting name – she has never been playable in the console games, and her only appearance so far has been in the mobile version of Injustice 2.
Why Batwoman is a strange pick
In the Injustice continuity, Batwoman is already dead by the time the events of Injustice: Gods Among Us kick off, having been killed off in a prequel comic. That leaves a few possibilities. NetherRealm could be building a multiverse-flavored story, much like its recent Mortal Kombat games, which would give dead characters an easy route back into the plot. Alternatively, a different character could be picking up the Batwoman mantle. And of course, a fighting game roster doesn’t have to obey the story at all – dead characters can show up in versus mode without any explanation.

Spoiler warning: Injustice 2 endings
The following section spoils the ending of Injustice 2.
A third game would presumably have to pick one of the two endings from Injustice 2 and effectively canonize it. Injustice 2 closes with the player choosing between Superman and Batman. Side with Superman and his Regime is reformed, Supergirl ends up imprisoned, and Batman is brainwashed with Brainiac’s technology. Side with Batman and Superman loses his powers while Supergirl joins the Justice League.
Both paths open different doors. The Superman ending fits a multiverse premise neatly – Superman variants arriving in the Injustice universe to fight the Regime, for example. The Batman ending would mean a reformed Justice League and a depowered Superman, which is its own kind of story hook. Supergirl showing up in the leak works either way, since she plays a role in both endings. If you want to revisit the original for yourself, Injustice 2 is still available on PC and consoles.
What this means for you
Practically speaking: nothing is official yet. There’s no announcement, no release window, and no confirmed platforms. What the leak does suggest is that the game is far enough along that stunt and motion-capture work on individual characters has already happened – that usually means a reveal isn’t years away.
NetherRealm has announced games at The Game Awards before, so December’s show is an obvious candidate for a first look. Treat that as speculation rather than a schedule, and keep expectations measured until NetherRealm says something itself.
