Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has never officially supported playing with other people. The community stopped waiting for it: the project known as KCD Multiplayer, released publicly as Kingdoms Connected, brings horse races, sieges, PvP fights and shared exploration of medieval Bohemia into the game. Instead of riding across the countryside alone, you can now do it alongside other players – or against them.
What Kingdoms Connected actually is
The modification is free and behaves less like one finished game mode and more like a platform. Anyone can build their own mode and host their own server, in the same spirit as SA:MP and FiveM do for the GTA series. Each server runs exactly one game mode – a script that defines the rules of that world:
- where players spawn
- how chat and commands behave
- who is allowed to damage whom
- what actually exists in the game world
Game modes can be written in Lua 5.4 or built as a C# plugin, and the public release also lets creators write their own modes in JavaScript or TypeScript. The mod additionally supports proximity voice chat, so other players hear you based on how close you are. A single server can hold up to 512 players.
The public version arrived at the end of October and it is free to download for anyone who owns Kingdom Come: Deliverance II on Steam – you can grab it on Nexus Mods, where the creators also describe the setup process.
What state the mod is in
Kingdoms Connected is in open beta and playable right now. It is still early, but it already supports PvP, basic RP servers and creating your own character. If you want to keep track of what else is happening around the series, we collect everything in our Kingdom Come: Deliverance news section.
The first roleplay servers
Two roleplay projects are already being built on top of the mod. Koruna Česká is up and running and focuses on trading and village communities. CrownRP is still preparing its launch and takes inspiration from games like Ark and DayZ.
How players are reacting
The response has been mostly enthusiastic. Apart from occasional complaints that multiplayer should have come straight from the developers, players are welcoming the mod and praising its potential. One of them wrote on X: “If they see this project through, I’ll sink hundreds of hours into it without hesitation. The world of KCD2 is beautiful, but after finishing the main storyline I really missed any kind of endgame content. Multiplayer would give me a new reason to come back to it.”
What it means for you
If you already own Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and finished the campaign, this is the first realistic way to return to the same world with other people – without paying anything extra. Just keep in mind it is a beta: expect rough edges, and expect the experience on each server to depend entirely on the game mode its owner chose to run.
