Nintendo Switch 2 price: how much it costs and where to buy it

The Nintendo Switch 2 costs €499.99 in Nintendo’s own European My Nintendo Store, after a price increase that took effect on 1 September 2026. This guide covers the current store prices as of 20 October 2026, the bundles, what you get in the box, the two battery versions sold in the EU and where the price went up outside Europe.

How much the Switch 2 costs in Europe

We checked the German My Nintendo Store on 20 October 2026. Prices include VAT:

ProductMy Nintendo Store (DE)
Nintendo Switch 2€499.99
Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World€549.99
Nintendo Switch 2 + Pokémon Pokopia€539.99
Nintendo Switch – OLED Model (for comparison)€349.99

On that day the standalone Switch 2 was listed as out of stock in the store. Retailers set their own prices, so what you pay in a shop can differ. Treat the table as Nintendo’s own reference price and check the retailer before you buy.

The September 2026 price increase

On 8 May 2026 Nintendo announced in a press release that it was adjusting prices “in response to changes in market conditions”. The changes in that announcement:

United States$449.99$499.991 September 2026

The price of the original Nintendo Switch did not change in Europe.

Bundles and release dates

A bundle is the console plus a game. The game comes as a download code, not as a physical card. Bundles differ by market. On 20 October 2026 the product page in the German My Nintendo Store offered the console alone and bundles with Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Pokémon Pokopia and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and listed the Mario Kart World bundle separately at €549.99.

For the Czech market, Nintendo’s official distributor lists these bundles on nintendo.cz, with their release dates:

  • Switch 2 + Mario Kart World (5 June 2025)
  • Switch 2 + Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (16 October 2025)
  • Switch 2 + Pokémon Pokopia (2 July 2026)
  • Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort + 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online (22 October 2026)
  • Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online (29 October 2026)
  • The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition (29 October 2026, limited edition)

In the My Nintendo Store the Mario Kart World bundle cost €50 more than the console alone on 20 October 2026. Mario Kart World is also the best-selling Switch 2 game according to Nintendo’s own figures. For the rest of the line-up, see our guide to Switch 2 games.

The two Czech-market bundles with a subscription include three months of Nintendo Switch Online, which you need for GameChat since 31 March 2026. On its own, a three-month individual membership cost €7.99 in the German Nintendo eShop on 20 October 2026. Every plan is broken down in our Nintendo Switch Online guide.

Two battery versions in the EU

Two versions of the console are sold in the European Union, and they differ in the battery:

VersionBatteryWeight without Joy-ConBattery replacement
user-replaceable battery5172 mAh441 gby you; Nintendo says replacement kits will come to its store “in the future”
non-replaceable battery5220 mAh401 gfor a fee via Nintendo support

If a replaceable battery matters to you, ask the retailer which version they are selling before you pay.

Buy now or wait?

There is no clear-cut answer. What we can say for sure: Nintendo raised the price in its European store on 1 September 2026 rather than lowering it, and on the Czech market two new subscription bundles arrive at the end of October.
