Season 12, called PRIME TIME, launched in The Finals on 20 October 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It brings the biggest destruction update since release, a new Light Playstyle called The Infiltrator, the Solo Showdown mode, remastered Monaco, Seoul and Skyway Stadium arenas, a new Sponsors system and the end of the VRs currency. Below is what changed as of 20 October 2026, plus what the Battle Pass includes and what it costs.
When Season 12 launched and what came before
Embark Studios announced the launch date on 18 September 2026, and the season arrived on schedule on 20 October 2026 together with patch notes 12.0. The previous season, Season 11 “Galaxy Masters”, had been running since 9 July 2026. Store Update 11.14 on 15 October 2026 opened its final week.

Throughout Season 11, updates landed every Thursday. The full changelog, including individual weapon tweaks, is in the official patch notes 12.0. This guide covers the changes you will notice the moment you log in.
Destruction, smoke and gas
Embark calls Season 12 the biggest destruction update since launch. Structures now take damage progressively, buildings collapse dynamically, explosions send out Blast Waves and collapsed buildings leave piles of debris behind. On top of that, smoke and toxic gas now behave dynamically.
In Cashout, the main mode where teams carry a Cashbox to a Cashout Station and defend it, this means the arena changes more during a match than it used to. If you are new to the game, the beginner’s guide explains Cashout from the ground up.
The Infiltrator and Solo Showdown
Light gets a new Playstyle (a preset loadout): The Infiltrator. It combines the True Sight specialization with the Mimic Device and Translocator gadgets. That makes it the twelfth Playstyle, joining the eleven available in Season 11.
The new Solo Showdown mode is in beta. Twelve players fight for themselves across three rounds. After each round, the four players with the least cash are eliminated, and whoever holds the most money at the end wins.
Remastered arenas, new HUD and live commentary
Monaco, Seoul and Skyway Stadium have been remastered. The menus and HUD are new as well. A Quick Settings tab lets you pin the options you change most often, such as volume, graphics quality or sensitivity. The crosshair now has its own tab, and the HUD can be scaled and adjusted for ultrawide screens. For performance tweaks, see our best settings guide.
Dynamic Commentary is also new and in beta: a commentator reacts to what happens in the match. If it is not for you, you can switch it off, or stop it from mentioning your name.
Sponsors, World Tour and Fans
Sponsors now work as a quest system. They unlock after you complete at least four matches. Your Sponsor then hands you Challenges, sets of three to five contracts with rewards. The Season 12 Sponsors are OSPUZE, ALFA ACTA and ISEUL-T.
World Tour, the seasonal progression with 6 ranks of 4 tiers each, has changed too. Instead of World Tour points, you now rank up by collecting Fans. You earn them for positive actions, Signature Plays and seasonal events, and you progress by playing Ranked Cashout, Cashout or Quickplay.
One more change matters for ranked players: Rank Score (RS) lost because of a server outage is now returned automatically, and you get a message about it within 24 hours. Leagues and the rules of the competitive mode are covered in our ranked guide.
Light and Heavy: new health values
The Respec Order changes are now permanent. Light has 175 base health instead of 150, Heavy has 325 instead of 350. Light also moves slower and Heavy faster than before. The health gap between Light and Heavy has shrunk from 200 to 150 HP.
VRs are gone
The VRs currency has been removed. Items now unlock together with a Playstyle via Playstyle Tokens, or are unlocked automatically. Older guides that tell you to save up VRs no longer apply.
Season 12 Battle Pass: Free, Premium and Ultimate
The Battle Pass again comes in three tiers:

- Free – everyone has it; you earn XP from matches and contracts.
- Premium – up to 106 rewards and the chance to earn 1,650 Multibucks (the premium in-game currency). It costs 1,150 Multibucks.
- Ultimate – 12 extra rewards including legendary outfits, 20 levels straight away, +25% Match XP for the whole season and 2,650 Multibucks in total, 1,000 of them up front.
Ultimate is sold as DLC in your platform’s store. Levels above 96 carry over to the next season. If you upgrade from Premium to Ultimate, Embark refunds 1,150 Multibucks.
| Bundle (as of 20 October 2026) | Steam price |
|---|---|
| Season 12 Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle | €29.99 |
| Season 12 Starter Pack | €9.99 |
The Season 12 Starter Pack contains 3 legendary weapon skins, 1 epic Season 12 sticker and 1,150 Multibucks. What else costs money and what stays free is covered in our guide on whether the game is free.
What happens to rewards when the season ends
Rewards you do not claim from the Free Battle Pass expire when the season ends. If you buy Premium late, it unlocks the rewards for every level you have already reached. Ultimate rewards must be claimed by logging in before the season ends.
Each pass later returns as a Legacy Battle Pass, three seasons after its debut. With Season 12, the Season 9 pass joins the Legacy lineup. A Legacy Battle Pass costs 1,150 Multibucks to unlock but contains no Multibucks itself. You unlock its items with Show Tokens earned by playing, and you can hold up to 50 at a time.
Halloween event and Twitch Drops
The Halloween event Frights Galore runs alongside the season launch. It features a prize wheel with 20 prizes, and you can earn up to 3 tickets a day from daily contracts. The prizes include the Underworld Outcast outfit. Twitch Drops run until 5 November 2026.
