The PGL Major field will be decided on the first Monday of November, and only shortly after that you will find out which teams are coming to Brno. Tipsport RUSH:Brno will host eight invited rosters that will fight over €30,000 and VRS points for the next period, which makes the event attractive even for teams whose season did not go to plan.
Why the Major cutoff decides the Brno lineup
Tipsport RUSH:Brno is a Tier 2 event, and the rules for that tier allow invitations starting from 13th place in the European ranking. Europe holds 18 Major slots in total, so in practice you can work with teams from 19th position downwards – everyone above that line is expected to be busy with the Major instead.
Valve published the final VRS edition before the Major cutoff yesterday evening, which gives a first real picture of who might realistically travel to Brno. Still, the October standing matters less than the simulations run by data analysts on X, who calculate each team’s chance of making the Major.
The names worth watching
The most interesting one is without question FaZe Clan. The roster currently sits as Europe’s number twenty, yet the simulations give them a 63 to 66 percent chance of reaching the Major. If the Major slips through their fingers again, a return of David “frozen” Čerňanský to Brno would be back on the table.
Another big draw would be 100 Thieves, sitting 22nd in VRS Europe with Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz and Håvard “rain” Nygaard in the lineup. Six positions further down you find Natus Vincere, a legendary organization going through a rough stretch. Their players have already won two matches at the uncounted ESL Pro League, so they will climb in November – by current estimates they are two, at most three wins away from the Major.
Who else is in the conversation
European competition is packed and not every famous name can squeeze into the 18 slots. Whoever ends up flying to the Major, the Brno invites should still look strong on paper:
- BIG and GamerLegion are established names on the Tier 1–2 border.
- Alliance and fnatic have already won Tipsport Conquest of Prague.
- Czech SINNERS could be right on the edge of an invitation.
If you have been following the Czech side of this race, we covered the SINNERS Major chances in detail, and their result in Belgrade got its own article on fourth place in Belgrade.
What it means for you
In short: until the Major field is locked, nobody can hand you a definitive Brno lineup. The order of names will keep shifting through the remaining matches, and the teams that miss the Major by a hair are exactly the ones most likely to show up in Czechia. Tickets for the event are handled through the official ticket page, and we are tracking the whole race in our Counter-Strike 2 news section.
