VALORANT is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in Australia and New Zealand on September 23, 2026. You’ll be able to access the Sydney server on console from 10:00 AM AEST, with cross-play between Xbox and PlayStation and account progress shared with PC.
Before launch, the local console server will temporarily close for final testing. If you’re already playing on console, here’s when that downtime starts and what you can expect when the server opens.
Launch times in Australia and New Zealand
The Sydney console server opens on September 23 at the following local times:
- New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania: 10:00 AM AEST
- South Australia, Northern Territory: 9:30 AM ACST
- Western Australia: 8:00 AM AWST
- New Zealand mainland: 12:00 PM NZST
- Chatham Islands, New Zealand: 12:45 PM CHAST
Local console server closes for testing on September 17
The local console server will be locked from Thursday, September 17 at 12:00 AM AEST until the official launch on September 23 at 10:00 AM AEST. That window is reserved for final testing ahead of the release.
You may see VALORANT listed in local console platform stores during testing, but that does not mean the server is available: it will remain offline until launch. PC players will not be affected by this console testing period.
Xbox and PlayStation can play together, but not with PC
If you’re on Xbox, you’ll be able to play with people on PlayStation, and vice versa. Console players cannot join games with PC players. The announcement explains that separating console and PC matches is intended to keep competition fair and the experience consistent on both platforms.
Your progress carries over without a reset
You’ll use the same account across console and PC, and your progress will not reset when VALORANT launches on console. Progress made on either platform stays with your account, including your Battlepass progress, recruited Agents, purchased skins, and anything else you’ve earned or bought.
If you want to read about the roster before launch, our Agents guide covers who does what and who to play. We also have a separate breakdown of VP and skins if you’re looking for an overview of what costs money in VALORANT.
No console subscription required
You do not need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass to play VALORANT on console. Both subscriptions offer benefits to subscribers, but neither is a requirement to play.
