The latest EA Sports FC 27 patch is Title Update 1.0.4, released on 7 October 2026. Here you will find what it fixed, what came before it, what EA has planned for late October, when the Football Ultimate Team (FUT) seasons start and end, and how Team of the Week, Ones to Watch and Future Stars work. Information as of 20 October 2026; FUT Season 2 starts on 22 October 2026.
Title Update 1.0.4: what changed
Update 1.0.4 went live on 7 October 2026 and, according to EA, contains no gameplay balance changes. It is a set of fixes across modes:
- Ultimate Team: fixed the “Service Unavailable” error that could appear after a finished match, and incorrect visuals on base items when opening some Player Picks.
- The Grounds: bug fixes for the mode.
- Career: Manager Career now generates fewer players with high OVR or high potential. Offering far more than a club asks no longer leads to instant acceptance. Free agents can be signed again outside the transfer window.
- Liga MX: the season now restarts in mid-January as intended.
- FC Lite: fixes for the free version.
The full notes are in EA’s 1.0.4 patch notes. Career changes are covered in detail in our Career Mode guide.
Earlier updates 1.0.1 and 1.0.3
Title Update 1.0.1 (23 September 2026) fixed, among other things, high ping in The Grounds league matches and raised the default Jockey and Sprint Jockey speed slider in Authentic gameplay. Title Update 1.0.3 (2 October 2026) improved matchmaking in The Grounds and cut down on excessive transfer requests in Career. On 9 October 2026, EA also fixed overly wide matchmaking in FUT Champions.
What EA has planned: PC fixes in late October
For late October 2026, EA plans an update with PC fixes: camera tuning with mouse controls, a mouse fix in “Be a Goalie”, a fix for Xbox Elite Series controller vibration and a fix for flickering when a FUT match loads. EA has not given a version number or an exact date. If the PC version is giving you trouble right now, see our guide to connection issues.

How FUT works from the ground up, from Squad Battles to Division Rivals, is explained in our Ultimate Team guide for beginners.
How Team of the Week (TOTW) works
Team of the Week picks players based on their performances in real-world football. Selected players receive a special item. From TOTW 1 onwards, special items also come in Holographic versions.
In Season 1, the community could pick one player in each of the first six TOTWs. Voting ran from Tuesday to Monday 23:59 Pacific Time (PT), one vote per week, with an EA account login required. The community-picked player carries a Community Player badge in the game.
TOTW players with an exclusive red design are also available in the Champions Token Store.
Promo campaigns: Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory and Future Stars
Ones to Watch
Ones to Watch (OTW) is the Season 1 campaign. Items rated 83 OVR or higher keep their attributes, lower ones are boosted to 83. Each time the player makes the TOTW, is named a Star Performer or wins Player of the Month, the item gains +1 OVR. There is also a one-off +1 OVR if the player’s club wins 3 of its next 6 league matches after 18 September 2026.
Destined for Glory
Destined for Glory has been running since 25 September 2026, with upgrades based on domestic league performances.
Future Stars and Future Stars Academy
Future Stars launched on 9 October 2026. Items upgrade based on domestic league performances, tracking runs from 9 October 2026 and the upgrades are released on 3 February 2027.
Part of the promo is the Future Stars Academy: you enrol a striker (ST) or attacking midfielder (CAM) born on 9 October 2003 or later and take them through four Academy Evolutions. In week 2 of Future Stars, from 17 October 2026, the PlayStyle+ Lab arrived with the first UEFA Star Performers. Campaigns also have their own SBCs, for example Puzzle SBCs in Future Stars. How they work is explained in our SBC guide.
Smaller campaigns and Series
Campaigns in FC 27 are smaller than before. Destined for Glory, for example, has 15 players per week, and the whole cycle has roughly 5 fewer campaign weeks. In their place come “Series” such as TOTY Warm Up and TOTS Warm Up, which do not add new special items. EA plans the first Series for Season 3 in December.
Seasonal events in The Grounds
The first season of The Grounds is called European Nights and revolves around the Champions League, with Amps inspired by Zidane, Maldini and Bale. Screaming Grounds arrives ahead of Halloween.
What EA is watching but has not changed yet
In its feedback update from 13 October 2026, EA says it is monitoring the following, with no changes announced yet:
- full-backs positioned too deep,
- goals scored soon after kick-off,
- passes that are too easy to intercept,
- low driven shots near the post,
- manual defending being harder, which EA describes as a “learning curve”.
In Career, EA is addressing too many transfer requests and competing offers (improved in 1.0.3 and 1.0.4), visual tweaks to Team Management and starting OVR values that are too high for newly generated players. Stamina and Dynamic OVR are being monitored for now. EA collects feedback through Discord Q&A sessions and the Player Feedback Portal.
FC 27 is also played competitively in the Czech Republic, for example at FC 27 BRNO or the Red Bull Wings Cup. We follow further news in our news section.
EA lists the season dates in its Launch Rewards article and the tracked issues in its Launch Feedback Update.
