VALORANT Patch 13.09: New Agent Hush, Warden Buffs and a Pile of Fixes

VALORANT Patch 13.09: New Agent Hush, Warden Buffs and a Pile of Fixes

Patch 13.09 is the Hush patch. The new Agent is live, every ability description in the game got a rewrite, buffs finally have proper names, Clove takes a small trim, and the Warden gets the handling buffs players have been asking for. On top of that there’s a long list of bug fixes across Agents, the ability map and spectator mode.

New Agent: Hush

Hush hails from Guangdong province and uses telekinesis to close the most classified cases. She fights with precision and finesse, redirecting her combat utility in midair to disrupt and displace the enemy team before suspending them helplessly for the killing blow. If you want the full picture of where she fits into the current act, we cover that separately.

Telekinesis (Passive)

Hush can pick up weapons, the Spike (when on attacker side) and INTERACT with switches from an increased range.

Displacement

EQUIP Displacement. FIRE to throw. ALT FIRE to prepare it instead. REACTIVATE to direct it towards your crosshair. It explodes on any surface or after a delay, pulling all players towards the center and concussing them if they collide with any surface or another player. Resets every two kills.

Flashbulb

EQUIP Flashbulb. FIRE to throw. ALT FIRE to prepare it instead. REACTIVATE to direct it towards your crosshair. It explodes on any surface or after a delay, flashing all players looking at it.

Flow

INSTANTLY create an anchor. If Hush is in the air, she briefly levitates in place. After a delay, she propels towards it.

Suspension

INSTANTLY prepare Suspension. FIRE to send it forward, steering with your crosshair. REACTIVATE or press FIRE again to detonate, levitating all players.

Ability descriptions and tooltips

  • All ability descriptions have been updated for improved clarity and consistency.
  • Passive descriptions have been added to more Agents across relevant areas, including Agent Select, the Agent Hub and Ability Tooltips. That includes passives that were never described in-game or explicitly categorized before, like Neon’s Battery.
  • The Ability Description Tooltip has been redesigned so you can read it at a glance: it now includes baseline details such as Agent, role and keybinds. Tooltips also show up during relevant moments, like testing a new Agent in the Range.

Buffs now have official names: Haste and Snapshot

Riot has added Haste and Snapshot as official buff terms.

  • Haste is the increased movement speed buff, as opposed to a Combat Stim buff, which increases your fire rate, equip speed, reload speed and recovery speed. The split makes it clear whether you just received or refreshed a Combat Stim buff, a Haste buff, or both.
  • Snapshot is the still image silhouette reveal debuff – Cypher’s Neural Theft and Spycam.

Which abilities now display Haste:

  • Brimstone: Stim Beacon shows an applied Haste buff to affected players.
  • Clove: Pick-me-up shows an applied Haste buff. Since the Haste buff adds its own timer bar to the UI, the previous timer bar has been removed to cut down on clutter.
  • Miks: Harmonize shows an applied Haste buff to affected players.
  • Neon: the fastest Agent on the roster shows an applied Haste buff while using High Gear or Overdrive.
  • Waylay: because the effects are identical, Convergent Paths’ buff has been renamed to Haste.

Clove gets standardized

While auditing buffs, Riot spotted some inconsistencies with Clove and is standardizing them to roster values and rules. Clove had a higher movement speed bonus than comparable abilities and different kill rewards after casting Not Dead Yet.

  • Pick-me-up: bonus movement speed decreased from 15% to 10%.
  • Not Dead Yet: killing Clove after they cast Not Dead Yet now grants an ultimate point and a signature refresh point to the player who killed them.

Jett: her passive has been removed from the Buy Menu to be consistent with other non-purchaseable passives.

Competitive updates

Performance Score

Hush is the first new Agent since Performance Score launched, so your scores on her may be a bit bumpy for the first few days while Riot tunes what good utility use looks like on her. There are also small quality of life improvements on the end-of-game pages: hover text for trades on the scoreboard (PC only) and a new “learn more” screen explaining what Performance Score actually is.

Map Rating

Your Act Best Match now has a bigger impact on your Map Rating each Act, so the system better highlights both consistency and your peaks. Map Rating itself arrived in patch 13.08 if you want to catch up on how it works.

Accolades

The First Blood Accolade was showing up a bit too often, so the threshold has been raised to make it harder to earn. Your historic count of Accolades earned is not affected.

Store

  • Korea only: players can now purchase Radianite Points in-game.

Weapons: Warden buffs

Riot has been monitoring feedback on how the Warden plays out in games and wants to improve its base versatility and handling to better fit the current 2900 price tag. These buffs should make the gun feel more controllable and easier to learn. The Warden originally launched in patch 13.06.

  • Pitch recoil smoothed out for the first few bullets.
  • Reduced spread on follow-up shots:
    • 2nd bullet error reduced from.25 to.2
    • 3rd bullet error reduced from.6 to.5

    Bug fixes – Agents

    • Clove: Ruse’s ability map could be visible to enemies positioned below Clove. Pick-Me-Up’s timer could stay visible on the HUD after the ability was used.
    • Cypher: Cyber Cage could change orientation when placed on angled surfaces.
    • Deadlock: the Annihilation capture voice line would not play for the captured enemy.
    • Gekko: Mosh Pit could damage destructible objects outside its intended area of effect.
    • Omen: Shrouded Step arrival visual effects could end prematurely.
    • Raze: Boom Bot could keep tracking an enemy’s location after they teleported.
    • Sova: Hunter’s Fury could affect players positioned behind him.
    • Tejo: Special Delivery could persist into the next round and occasionally damage or concuss players after the round transition. Guided Salvo could target an unintended location or fail to cast after a selected target moved out of range.
    • Yoru: Gatecrash sound effects could repeatedly play when trying to use the ability while suppressed.

    Fixes across multiple Agents:

    • Vulnerable visual effects were incorrectly positioned on Gekko’s Wingman, Killjoy’s Turret and Raze’s Boom Bot.
    • Tejo’s Guided Salvo and Brimstone’s Orbital Strike placement indicators could initially appear offset from the player’s position.
    • Chamber’s and Omen’s locations could briefly be revealed to enemies on the minimap after teleporting.
    • Certain abilities belonging to Cypher, Vyse, Viper and Killjoy could be visible to opponents through barriers during the Buy Phase.
    • Veto’s and Vyse’s in-game UI now reads RECALL instead of PICK UP, matching other similar retrieval methods.

Bug fixes – general, spectator and personalisation

    • Placing an ability using the ability map could unintentionally consume multiple charges or place abilities at unintended locations.
    • Ability map cursors and placement indicators could disappear while equipping or using certain abilities.
    • Enemies outside the affected vision range could appear on the minimap while a player was Nearsighted.
    • Ability maps could remain visible instead of being obscured by consecutive flashes.
    • Ability descriptions could be missing or show incorrect information while controlling certain Agent abilities.
    • Spectator: Neon’s Fast Lane visual effects could be invisible to spectators observing the Spike.
    • Personalisation: the position of the yellow notification icon on new Player Cards has been corrected.

    PC only

    • Fixed an issue where the mouse cursor could briefly disappear when moved outside the boundaries of certain ability maps.

    Console only

    • Miks: M-Pulse and Bassquake did not provide controller vibration feedback when equipped or cast.

If you play on PS5 or Xbox, we have a separate breakdown of the console version, including account linking and crossplay.

    FAQ

Who is Hush and what role does she play?

Hush is the newest Agent, coming from Guangdong province. She uses telekinesis to disrupt and displace enemies – she can redirect Displacement and Flashbulb in midair, reposition herself with Flow, and levitate whole teams with her ultimate, Suspension.

What is the difference between Haste and Combat Stim?

Haste is purely the increased movement speed buff. Combat Stim increases your fire rate, equip speed, reload speed and recovery speed. Splitting the two into named buffs makes it clear which one you just received or refreshed – or whether you have both at once.

How was Clove nerfed in patch 13.09?

Pick-me-up’s bonus movement speed drops from 15% to 10%, and killing Clove after they cast Not Dead Yet now grants the killer an ultimate point and a signature refresh point.

Does the Warden get easier to use after the buffs?

Yes. Pitch recoil on the first few bullets is smoothed out and follow-up shots are tighter – second bullet error drops from.25 to.2 and third bullet error from.6 to.5. Riot’s goal is to match the gun’s handling to its 2900 price.

Why might my Performance Score look odd on Hush?

Hush is the first new Agent since Performance Score launched, so scores on her may be bumpy for the first few days while Riot tunes what good utility use looks like on her kit.
