Crimson Desert 2.04.06: AMD Crash in Pailune Fixed and the Lumen Sword Can Be Restored

Pearl Abyss has pushed out another hotfix for Crimson Desert on Steam and the console versions. Version 2.04.06 is a pure repair job – it kills a crash tied to AMD drivers, cleans up several naval and pioneering bugs, and finally lets you get a destroyed Lumen Sword back.

Patch availability by platform

  • Steam (Mac): patch available now
  • PlayStation: patch available now
  • Xbox: patch available now
  • Epic Games Store: patch coming later (in progress)
  • Mac App Store: patch coming later (in progress)

If you play on Epic or through the Mac App Store, you’ll have to wait a bit longer – the rollout there is still being worked on.

Crashes and performance

  • [AMD] Fixed a crash in Pailune that happened when the Cinematic option was enabled on driver version 26.10.1.
  • Fixed framerate drops in certain areas. Pearl Abyss says it will keep working on drops that show up in specific situations and content.
  • Fixed an occasional crash while diving as Damiane with the language set to Latin American Spanish.
  • Fixed an occasional crash when approaching a house built in Free Construction mode.
  • Fixed an issue where the screen stayed black when entering Free Construction mode in certain situations.

The previous round of crash fixes, including the one in Ravok, is covered in our write-up of patch 2.04.05.

Ships, pioneering and naval combat

  • Fixed an issue that prevented you from completing a previous mission when sending out two or more pioneering missions.
  • Fixed an issue where pioneering wouldn’t complete if you tried to finish a pioneering mission while a ship was near the anchorage.
  • Fixed crew members on board talking excessively.
  • Fixed Kite Pirates being able to enter the Assault Ship of the East.
  • Fixed the reload sound effect playing multiple times when all cannons were fully charged during naval combat.
  • Fixed characters ending up in an abnormal position after disembarking from a ship or a rowboat.
  • Fixed some trade goods disappearing when moved from a ship to a wagon.
  • Rewards are not granted when defeating the Phantom Ship and the Drunken Catfish.

If you’re hunting down the big targets across the map, we keep a separate overview of bosses and locations.

World, exploration and diving

  • Fixed Abyss Cressets at Secret Places and Ruins located in the ocean not working properly.
  • Fixed some sound effects not playing while diving under certain conditions.

  • Fixed the game returning to the title screen when gifting multiple items to an NPC.

What it means for you

Nothing here changes how the game plays, but a few of these fixes remove genuinely painful roadblocks – a stuck pioneering mission, a destroyed Lumen Sword or invisible outlaw markers all made the open world harder to read than it had to be. If you’re just getting started, our list of 10 things not to do is worth a read, and everything else we’ve written about the game lives in the Crimson Desert news hub.
