Diablo 4 languages: every supported language and voice

Diablo IV supports 14 languages, 13 of them with full voice acting. This guide lists every language the game offers as of 19 October 2026, which ones have voice-over and which are text only, what the situation is for Czech and Slovak players and which languages Central European players tend to pick instead. It applies to the base game and both expansions.

Every language in Diablo IV

According to Steam, the game ships in 14 language versions. Thirteen have full audio, while Turkish is text only. The expansions Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred list exactly the same languages, so buying an expansion doesn’t change your options.

Two European languages you might expect are missing: there is no Czech and no Slovak version, neither text nor voice.

No Czech localisation

Diablo IV has no official Czech localisation, and that applies to both expansions too. The older Diablo II: Resurrected – Infernal Edition is in the same position. It supports 12 languages, including Polish, but not Czech. You can read more about it in our comparison of D2R and Immortal.

We’re a Czech gaming site, so this question comes up a lot. The short answer for Czech and Slovak players is that they play Diablo IV in another language.

What Central European players use instead

The closest official localisations for a Czech or Slovak player are Polish and German. Both come with full voice acting, so the whole game speaks one language.

  • English is the most practical choice. Guides, patch notes and the community use English names for skills, items and activities. Our own guides keep the English in-game names for the same reason, so they match what you see on screen.
  • German makes sense if you read it better than English. Just keep in mind that the item and skill names won’t match English guides.
  • Polish is a Slavic language, so Czech and Slovak players can pick up a fair bit of it. For detailed affix and mechanic descriptions, though, it helps only if you actually speak it.

You set the language in the game client or in the game itself.

Where to check the language list yourself

Steam keeps the official language list on each product page, with voiced languages marked as having full audio support. You’ll find it for the base game, Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. As of 19 October 2026 all three lists are identical. If Blizzard adds a language, it will show up there too.

Why the language choice matters

Diablo IV is a text-heavy game. Every item has several affixes, skills have modifiers and variants, and endgame activities come with their own rules. If you don’t follow the language well, you lose out mainly when comparing gear and reading seasonal mechanics.

Playing with friends who speak your language

The game may not speak your language, but your friends do. Diablo IV has crossplay between PC, PlayStation and Xbox, so you can team up with friends regardless of platform. How to set up a party and why you need to be in the same realm is covered in our crossplay and co-op guide.

Before you buy, check the system requirements and the Steam Deck status too. The game needs 90 GB on an SSD and an internet connection even for solo play.
