Dune Awakening: Testing Station 136

Dune Awakening: Testing Station 136

Testing Station 136 is the fire-themed station and the friendliest run in all of Challenge Mode: no traps, no puzzles, no tricky routes. Two lockdown arenas and Masano the Burned at the end. If you’re still learning Challenge Mode or want reliable clears, this is the station worth mastering.

What to bring

  • Responsive Planar Suspensor Belt: the most valuable piece of gear for this station, because it carries you through the boss’s final phase.
  • Bandages and medkits. You’ll find some inside, but don’t build your plan around that.
  • Cutteray for the optional loot rooms, which are genuinely worth opening.
  • Durable gear. The fire pressure wears it down over the whole run.
  • A full Literjon for hydration and stamina.
  • The Forge set if you’re going for high difficulty, where fire resistance matters more.

Part one: to the first lockdown

  1. Go down the stairs.
  2. Walk through the corridor and keep right at the end.
  3. When you see a burning wreck on the ground, turn left.
  4. Jump over the wreck with the suspensor and continue into the first lockdown room.

Lockdown room 1 starts with a group of three, usually one melee enemy, one unarmored soldier and one heavy flamethrower trooper, followed by two similar waves.

The room is large and full of explosive canisters. They wipe a group instantly, but the blast radius is huge, so shoot them from a distance, not up close.

Two optional interactions: the red button between the consoles on the left blows up the crates in the next lockdown room (mostly for fun), and the cutteray-locked door to the right of the entrance hides several chests with strong materials.

Part two: the second lockdown

Go through the unlocked shield door opposite the entrance and down the stairs. The second lockdown is longer but not harder. It’s a steady stream rather than a spike: usually two enemies to start, then waves of roughly three, three, two and three.

The same applies here: space and explosive canisters. One detail is worth exploiting: heavy flamethrower troopers often start firing before they’re in range, which exposes them and makes them easy to take down from a distance.

After the waves, there’s another cutteray-locked door at the back with materials, ammo and healing items. Grab them before the boss, because you won’t come back here mid-fight.

Masano the Burned

The boss has four phases, and the common thread is movement. The final phase is where the Suspensor Belt earns its slot: mobility gets you out of the constant fire, not durability. While you’re sorting out your combat gear, take a look at the fan-made Dune: Awakening merch at the GamersTogether shop – t-shirts, posters and mugs.

Otherwise, standard Challenge Mode discipline applies: deal with the adds that block your escape routes right away, take short damage windows instead of long combos, and treat every telegraphed attack as a reason to dodge, not something you can tank.

Why run 136

It’s the most consistent station in the rotation. No puzzle can go wrong, no trap can catch you, and the rewards are the same augment schematics and Schematic Patterns as everywhere else in Challenge Mode. When you’re grinding tiers, reliability is worth more than speed.

FAQ

Can you solo Station 136?

Yes, it’s the most solo-friendly station in Challenge Mode: no traps, no puzzles and manageable waves.

What do I absolutely need to bring?

The Responsive Planar Suspensor Belt for the boss and a cutteray for the loot rooms. The rest is standard gear.

How long does a run take?

Around 20 to 25 minutes, including the optional loot rooms.

How do I deal with the flamethrowers?

Keep your distance. They often start firing before they’re actually in range, which exposes them and makes them free kills.

Are the explosive canisters worth using?

Yes, but only from a distance. The blast radius is big enough to kill you along with the whole group.
