In Honkai: Star Rail you get a 5-star character on the event banner within 90 warps at the latest and a 5-star Light Cone within 80. The first 5-star character has a 50% chance of being the featured (rate-up) one, for Light Cones it is 75%. The numbers in this guide come from HoYoverse’s official banner rules and are valid as of 20 October 2026, during version 4.6.
The four warp types
A Warp is a pull in HSR. The game has four banner types, each with its own rates and pity, the guarantee after a set number of pulls:
| Banner | Base 5-star chance | Consolidated incl. guarantee | 5-star guarantee | Featured chance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Character Event Warp | 0.6% | 1.6% | within 90 warps | 50% featured character |
| Light Cone Event Warp | 0.8% | 1.87% | within 80 warps | 75% featured Light Cone |
| Stellar Warp (standard) | 0.6% (character 0.3%, Light Cone 0.3%) | 1.6% | within 90 warps | no featured items |
| Departure Warp (beginner) | 0.6% | 2.08% | 5-star character within 50 warps | no featured items |
The base probability is the chance per warp. The consolidated probability also counts the guarantee, which is why it is higher. The rules for the current banner are in game on the Warp screen, which the official Warp notices also point to.
Character Event Warp: 90 warps and the 50/50
On the character banner you get at least one 5-star character within 90 warps. When it drops, it has a 50% chance of being the featured one. If it is not, the next 5-star character is guaranteed to be. According to the official rules, the consolidated chance of getting the featured 5-star character, with all guarantees, is 1.113%.
For 4-stars the base chance is 5.1% and the consolidated chance 13%. You get at least a 4-star or higher within 10 warps, with a 50% chance of it being one of the featured 4-star characters.
Celestial Invitation in version 4.6
During the 4.6 phase, the character banner can also give you a character you picked in Celestial Invitation, alongside the featured one. It is your own selection from the standard 5-star characters. The exact rules are on the Warp screen for each banner.
Light Cone Event Warp: 80 warps and 75%
Light Cones are the equipment that fills the weapon role in HSR. On their banner the base chance of a 5-star Light Cone is 0.8%, the consolidated chance 1.87%, and you get one within 80 warps at the latest. It has a 75% chance of being the featured Light Cone, otherwise the next one is guaranteed to be. The consolidated chance of the featured 5-star Light Cone is 1.534%. For 4-stars the base is 6.6% and the consolidated chance 14.8%.
Shared counters
All Character Event Warps share one pity counter and all Light Cone Event Warps share another. If you warp on two parallel character banners, your pulls add up. Both counters are independent of the Stellar Warp and Departure Warp, and warps there do not count towards them.
Stellar Warp and Departure Warp
The Stellar Warp is the standard banner. Its base 5-star chance is 0.6%, split evenly between characters and Light Cones, with 1.6% consolidated and a 5-star within 90 warps.
The Departure Warp is the beginner banner. You can only do 10-warps there, at a 20% discount, up to 50 warps in total, and a 5-star character is guaranteed within 50 warps. The base chance of a 5-star character is 0.6%, the consolidated chance 2.08%. It has its own counter that does not combine with other banners.
What a duplicate 5-star character gives you
- Second to seventh copy: Eidolon ×1 and Undying Starlight ×40.
- From the eighth copy: Silver Companion Spirit ×1 and Undying Starlight ×100.
HoYoverse publishes the rates of HSR’s side systems too, not just warps. What counts is always the official notice and the rules on the Warp screen.
