GTA 6 launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Standard Edition costs $79.99, the Ultimate Edition $99.99, and pre-orders have been open since 25 June 2026. This page sticks to what Rockstar and Take-Two have officially confirmed, or what two independent outlets agree on: release date, platforms, prices and editions, the pre-order bonus, the story setup, the trailers and the PC question. Leaks stay out. Status as of 19 October 2026; we will update the page after launch.
Release date and platforms
Grand Theft Auto VI comes out on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date is on the official rockstargames.com/VI page, and Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick also referred to the November 19th launch in his first-quarter letter to shareholders.
The game reached this date after two delays:
- It was originally due in autumn 2025.
- On 2 May 2025 Rockstar moved it to 26 May 2026.
- On 6 November 2025 came the second delay, to 19 November 2026.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
A PC version has not been announced. The official page lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar has said nothing about PC. We therefore give no PC date or year; anything else is speculation. PC players currently have GTA V and its Enhanced edition, and the hardware you need is in our GTA 5 requirements guide.
Where GTA 6 is set and who you play
The game returns to Vice City, this time in the fictional state of Leonida. There are two protagonists, Jason and Lucia.
The Vice City name already appears on two older games: GTA: Vice City from 2002 and GTA: Vice City Stories from 2006. How the whole series lines up by release date is covered in our GTA games order.
Price and editions
GTA 6 comes in two editions, Standard and Ultimate. The Ultimate Edition adds an exclusive collection of vehicles, weapons, outfits and more, threaded across Jason and Lucia’s whole story.
| Edition | USD | GBP | EUR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $79.99 | £69.99 | €79.99 |
| Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | £89.99 | €99.99 |
Pre-orders and the Vintage Vice City Pack
Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026. Anyone who pre-orders the game or buys it before 20 November 2026 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders also come with one month of GTA+ for free.
So if you only care about the bonus, you do not have to pre-order. Buying the game by launch day, 19 November 2026, is enough.
Single-player and GTA Online
When it announced the price, Rockstar described GTA 6 as a “single-player experience”. It did not mention a new GTA Online for launch. Whether and when an online component arrives is not officially known yet.
Trailers and music
- Trailer 1 came out in 2023.
- Trailer 2 arrived on 6 May 2025 and, according to Rockstar, hit 475 million views across platforms in its first 24 hours.
- Radio: on 8 October 2026 Rockstar revealed the in-game radio stations. The official page also features GTAVI: The Album.
- Launch trailer: Rockstar released it on 15 October 2026, see Rockstar Newswire.
What Rockstar has not confirmed yet
Plenty of leaks and guesses are doing the rounds. We leave them out, because neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has confirmed them. Officially, two big questions remain open:
- PC version: not announced, no date exists.
- Online component: Rockstar has not talked about it for launch.
As soon as Rockstar announces either, we will add it here. If you want to revisit earlier games before launch, our guides cover the older titles and their cheats, for example the Vice City cheats. And if you are wondering what else to play on PS5, see the best PS5 games.
